The morning came all too quickly for Tilian’s liking. He was showered and dressed in a matter of minutes. He fed Luna and then decided to let her explore their quarters while he went down to breakfast. He would have preferred to have his breakfast alone in his room but he had to book the museum tour and pick up the Kasseelian Opera ticket.

In no time he had his ticket in hand and was seated at the breakfast table. The restaurant was full so he'd been quite happy that a table near the back had been open. That’s where he'd placed his tray of eggs and bacon and peppermint tea. He added his usually dash of salt, dash of pepper, dash of ketchup and tucked in. Thus far it had been a quiet morning and he was enjoying the quiet.

“Ketchup on yer eggs?”

Tilian almost dropped his fork at the sound.

“Sorry I didn’t mean to startle you.”

Tilian looked up and instantly regretted it. “I was not startled.”

The man laughed. “Well you could have fooled me.” He looked around. “All the tables are taken and I was hoping I could sit here,” he drawled in a southern drawl that rivalled the good Doctor McCoy.

He sighed. “I was just about to leave.”

“No need Grol. We can share the table. Plenty of room.”

Tilian looked up at the man again. “How do you know my name?”

The man laughed. “We met last night when I was making all that noise.”

The familiarity of the voice now clicked into place. “Mr. Walker.” His noisy neighbour from downstairs.

The man smiled as he sat down. “Dallas is fine.”

“Indeed.” Tilian shifted uncomfortably.

“So here on Vacation?”

Tilian looked at the man. “Why else would I be here?”

Dallas sighed. “I’m just trying to make conversation.”

Tilian huffed. “Yes well I’m trying to avoid them.” He picked up his tray. “I should go. I have a schedule to keep.”

Dallas watched the man start to go. He sighed, “Sure thing Starfleet.”

Tilian dropped his tray back on the table with a lot more vigour then he meant to. “Alright that’s quite enough. How did you know I was Starfleet?”

Dallas laughed. “The stick up yer ass. You Fleeters are all huffy.”

Tilian stared at the man. “Excuse me? We are not huffy. Time is precious and I have a schedule to stick to. I haven’t come here to make friends I have a thousand things I have to get done. The museums, the Kesseelian opera, I have five books that I plan to get through and a cat to bond with and I still have to get in three days that are devoted to swimming.”

“All that?”

Tilian was starting to get frustrated. “Yes all that!”

Dallas smiled. “Alright then. I’ll let you get back to it.”

He watched Tilian walk away. He was far too uptight. Risa was for fun and relaxation and Tilian Grol was about as relaxed as a Razor Beast on a hunt. He sighed and turned back to his breakfast.

Tilian walked away from the table feeling rather ticked off that his solitude had been interrupted. He headed back to his room where he ate the rest of his breakfast, the one he hadn’t gotten to finish. He then looked at his schedule and sent a message to the automated reception to book what he wanted to do.

That done he decided to devote the rest of the day to reading. Tonight he’d be listening to Opera and then a dinner on the ocean cruise restaurant and two items would be checked off his list. He smiled at Luna. “We may just get everything done.”

Tilian settled in for the day and began to read. He took brakes to have lunch and play with Luna but by the time his timer rang reminding him that it was time to begin preparations to go to the opera he’d read a book and gotten half way through his second book.

Quite pleased with himself and his progress he took a shower and slipped into his tux.
Tonight would prove to be a relaxing night. He was looking forward to his outing.

He fed Luna again and left some water for her. She curled up on her bed and fell asleep. Smiling he headed out. He was feeling a little off today. It had started this morning with a headache and sneezing. He sighed. His allergies must have come back. He hoped there were no Risan Dosai plants at the Opera. There were several just outside his room so the pollen had been playing with his system. Sighing he got in the hover car and closed the door. Tonight would be a good night.
