Adrianna decided to stop by engineering a few days after meeting her 'new bff'. She had two takeout coffees. She'd already had one in her system to encourage her native tongue to hush not to mention bribe her brain into a second round of friend making. Adrianna knocked on the door frame, "morning. I has coffee and I is too stubborn for translator."

Eyelaya laughed. "Coffee would be good. I have been up all night."

"Why?" Adrianna looked concerned, handing a coffee to Eyelaya.

"Yesterday afternoon tactical decided to mess with a panel in the cargo bay without calling engineering and there was a power surge. Mac broke three ribs, he's sleeping it off, one of the other officers has concussion and the XO was impaled by a barrel seal at the cargo bay. I have been fixing the mess." She scrubbed her hands down her face."

Adrianna cussed in her own language, "why would anyone do that. Do I need to make someone disappear? Airlock?"

She smiled. "No. It was just a power surge." She drank the coffee. I need a break." She grinned. "Wanna see my thinking place on the ship?"

"Spoil sport," Adrianna pouted before grinning, "Si, let's see it."

She led Adrianna to the very top of Engineering just to the right of the warp core in a protected chamber. She entered first and lay down. "Try it. It's like feeling the vibration almost like being in a hammock while it's rocking."

Adrianna looked puzzled but soon lay down, "Oh gawd." the Italian seemed to melt into the weird comfort, "you're never getting this place back."

She laughed. "Happy to share." She sighed. "Relaxing isn't it?"

"Too relaxing for a morning," Adrianna commented with a soft chuckle.

"Have you had breakfast?" Eyelaya asked.

"I have, but coffee still isn't working, so I could eat, maybe it'll help," Adrianna looked to Eyelaya, "looks like I'll be coming here more often. Think this ship will prove to be one that I spend a lot of time in engineering."

She smiled. "You still haven't see the ship's sweet spot...although I'm reluctant to go there. It's the Commander's meditation spot."

Adrianna looked confused, "he does not meditate twenty-four seven. Well, I hope he doesn't."

She laughed. "No only at night before sleep. Vulcans need private meditation. We'll field trip that one for another day. Let's get some food."

Adrianna stood back up, "Si. Lead the way." the woman was a lot less overbearing in terms of chatty this morning. Perhaps lack of sleep, but also perhaps Mac was right--and this was the woman feeling less lonely.

They walked over to the mess hall. Each ordered their breakfasts, Eyelaya ordered her usual eggs and bacon with lots of cheese and ketchup. It was a breakfast she got hooked on early. They sat down and Eyelaya sighed as she picked up her orange juice and took a sip. "That's good orange juice." She looked at her new friend. "So how was your night? Did you do anything exciting? Did you get a chance to shop on the station?"

Adrianna wasn't a big breakfast person, she opted for some grapefruit and a croissant. The question was one she was happy to answer, "I didn't do much shopping unless the bar counts. Last night, I couldn't sleep. My brain - it doesn't like silence. So I went for a walk. Had some company which was nice. You? Aside from being up with emergency works?"

"Just working on the panel and a few other things. There is lots of fixes to be had. I hope to get out today though There are a few things I want to pick up...mostly books."

"What are the other things," Adrianna cheekily asked.

"Well there are quite a few replicators out. Also some holo emitters and an article submission for a tech journal. I haven't written in a few months...the edit is getting pushy."

"Sounds techy," Adrianna replied, "I should really visit to at least window shop outside the bar. So, you write?"

"Just technical stuff." She snorted. "If you want poetry you should see Max! He left a book open. He sketches and he writes poetry...I shouldn't have looked...I couldn't help it."

Adrianna blinked, "poetry. Poetry? Wow. That is- wow ok. Any good?"

"SOOOOO cheesy. It rhymes" She snorted. "Oh my gods! It's not horrible but too mushy."

"That man is full of secrets," Adrianna looked impressed, "you have any hidden talents that would otherwise mortify you like that?"

"Goodness no...I have allergies and odd habits."

Adrianna smirked, "Oh, juicy, do tell. We'll do a show me yours I'll show you mine."

"Well... I eat the same things everyday accept for Tuesdays then I try something new for lunch and dinner because change unnerves me and I try to do little things. I don't know how to make friends.....I have issues with loud noise. I have fabric allergies.....stuff like that."

" Well aside from the food thing-that's not so bad. The friends thing, not sure on that one, I mean I came back for round two," Adrianna chuckled.

She blushed. "Not many do. People find me.....annoying."

Adrianna shrugged, "then apparently I like to be punished. You're fine. Chatty, but that makes you-you. Don't change, unless you have not first ensured I have coffee."

She laughed. "I like you, your funny."

Adrianna smiled, "I have my moments."

"So what does your day look like?" She asked.

"I need to see the XO, first, then I've got a meeting, then whatever the meeting needs after," Adrianna replied, "you? Besides catching up on sleep?"

"Ohhh no I couldn't sleep now. I have another three hours in Engineering and the Cargo Bay and then I have to go to the ship library to pick up the new tech manuals and then I don't know. Probably tinker away at something."

"Perhaps we should withhold your caffeine intake and give you some sleeping pills. Woman, you need to rest even if you can't sleep." Adrianna looked concerned.

"Oh I'm used to it. On Vulcan they train you on how to go without sleep for days. Vulcans can do it for weeks my record.. Four days. I will be alright."

"That cannot be healthy," Adrianna replied, cringing, "there's a reason sleep deprivation is used as a torture method."

"It's all about resetting your systolic clock. I'll be good." She sighed. "How about when you have time tomorrow I'll show you the other fun place on the ship."

"That sounds good," Adrianna replied, "maybe lunch?"

She gave a nod. "Absolutely!"
