Mishap on the Monarch

Mission: Operation: Jabberwocky
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: MD3

"Unca Wyan look! I made a howsy!" Rachel proudly displayed her art, and Ryan was glad his niece had mentioned it was a horse. "That's a beautiful horse. What's its name?"

"Sherwock! Its a smart howsy." Rachel exclaimed.

Ryan heard his sister Amanda stifle a laugh in the background.

Before Ryan could quip at his sister his combadge went off.

=/\= Vali to Rose ... Ryan I need you! Medical ... emergency. =/\=

Ryan didn't even cut the line, He simply darted for his medical kit; not bothering to put on shoes as he replied.

=^= I"m on my way T'Lanna =^=

She'd sounded in pain. Ryan ran the short distance to her quarters and didn't bother sounding the chime, he simply used his medical clearance to open the door and hurry inside. The scene he discovered was rather self descriptive. He knelt down, uncaring of the glass and started scanning. "Hey, T'Lanna. Are you with me?" He asked.

T’Lanna nodded. “I’m with you. Sorry if I spoilt your quiet time.” She offered a brief smile as she kept her concentration on keeping the pain she was in away. “I got up before I was ready ... I stumbled and couldn’t catch myself.”

"Don't worry about me. Just stay still for a minute." The wound didn't look overly deep, but he didn't want her jostling it until he had a better idea of what he was dealing with. He scanned her, and luckily the wound had missed her uterus. It had penetrated quite a bit of her abdominal wall though. There were no spinal injuries and the fetus looked fine.

T'Lanna watched as Ryan did his scans. There was a fair amount of her green blood but then she did have a piece of glass sticking out of her body along with small shards that had no doubt cut her back as well. “So what’s the prognosis? Is my son alright? Are his readings stable?” She looked at Ryan concernedly.

With a quick double check he nodded. "Yes, baby is fine. You on the other hand are going to need some stitches. Ryan maneuvered himself, getting a shard below his knee, and one in his right palm. But he managed to get a stabilizing hand around the shard in her side. "Alright, can you grab my shoulders. Just hang on, let me do the work getting up."

T’Lanna nodded as she looked at Ryan concernedly. “You’re hurt too Ryan, I don’t want to hurt you.”

"T'Lanna, I'm fine. I didn't crash into the glass. I can call the base and have a swarm of medics in here, but I think it would be easier for everybody if we just get you to sick bay."

Nodding she held onto Ryan as he helped her to her feet. “That’s one coffee table I have to replace.” She sighed. “I should have let myself wake up properly before I got up.”

Ryan kept the large shard that was embedded stabilized as he lifted her up. He'd rather remove that in sickbay. "Pardon the bridle carry." He teased, as he shifted her into the carry. He carried her quickly to the bay and laid her on the closest biobed. "Ok, I'm going to use a local for this, I don't want to put you under. You may feel some pressure and tugging, but it shouldn't actually hurt ok? I need you to tell me if it does."

T’Lanna nodded. “Don’t worry I’ll be sure to let you know if I feel anything, I suck at being a patient!” She grinned. “You know the old saying about doctors and therapists being the worst patients.”

"Yes, it's quite true." Ryan quickly sterilized his hands and did a cursory close on the gash on his right palm. It wasn't deep, but he'd go back later and fully repair it. The wound on T'Lanna's side did need internal repairs though. "When I was in the hospital on the base, they kicked me out early because I kept looking at my chart and commenting." He smiled as he got to work. "After this, I will want you here overnight though. But if you want to invite Raith we can throw up a movie on the bare bulkhead over there and make it a sleepover."

T’Lanna grinned. “Is this something you do for all your patients or just me? I feel like I’m getting the star treatment!” She offered an apologetic look.

"Well we are only going to have a skeletal crew, so you are indeed my star patient. Hopefully my only one. Ryan stepped back to take another scan after he'd finished with her internal wounds.

“All this could have been avoided if I’d have let myself wake up properly before getting up, that and putting my shoes where I wouldn’t fall over them.”

"Or if supply, or whoever furnishes stuff didn't produce sub standard coffee tables. Don't beat yourself up over it, accidents happen. Besides, now I have an excuse for company in here, I don't mind." He finished up with the dermal regenerator. "Alright, that looks much better."

T’Lanna smiled. “All done and I didn’t feel a thing. I appreciate you saying I could have Raith here but I don’t want to worry him. He’s got work to do and worrying about me will just distract him from that, besides he might already know.” She paused. “We tried bonding, if the bond has worked properly he probably felt something was wrong. He just might not know what. Could you contact him and assure him I’m alright?”

"Of course. I'll let you get as settled in as possible in sickbay. I'll be in the office if you need anything."

T’Lanna nodded. “Thank you Ryan, I think I’ll just enjoy a proper relax for now.” She smiled as she settled herself more comfortably grateful for the skilled hands of a wonderful doctor and friend.
