Operation: Ouroboros

ON:
Eyelaya paced the confines of her office in main Engineering. She had to go to Earth to help Zilith but before she did there was something that she had to get off her chest and her best friend was the only one that she could talk to about it. "Eyelaya to Petty Officer Baciami...can you come to engineering...like yesterday?"
Adrianna had just come back from Earth, she'd said goodbye to Alex and was now lost in thought. She was still feeling a bit off. Being home in Italy had brought up a lot and then seeing her mother had been overwhelming. Stillwater and the admiral didn't help to the panic either. Either way, the distraction could be good. "On my way," she replied, heading to engineering. As she entered, she removed her face scarf completely, forgetting she'd been wearing it. She was still in civilian clothes, "Eyelaya?"
Eyelaya stuck he head out the office. "Oh thank the Prophets!" She pulled Adrianna into her office. "Something happened."
Adrianna let herself be almost dragged. She waited for the doors to shut behind them before asking, "what's wrong?" As she asked, she started unwrapping her scarf properly.
"I...slept with him...by accident."
"You can't just fall and slip on his--" Adrianna paused, "wait, he who?"
"Well it wasn't accidental in that way. He was so sad and I kissed him and then well we kind of... well you know." She waved her hand before she sat down hard. She sighed and closed her eyes rubbing the bridge of her nose. "Grol."
Adrianna raised a brow. Eyelaya and Grol seemed like a strange pairing. She held up a finger to pause Eyelaya and rummaged in her satchel with her free hand. She pulled out a bottle of Baciami Gold Leaf Grappa. She then wandered over and replicated two shot glasses. Placing the glasses between them, she popped the Cork. The initial scent made her groan quietly in satisfaction. She'd missed that smell. Baciami grappa was hard to come by outside of earth, and this bottle came from her family home, so it was the good stuff. Further to savouring the moment, she poured two shot glasses and gestured for Eyelaya to take one before the gold settled to the bottom, commanding, "drink."
She drank. "Ohhh that's strong!"
Adrianna sighed in pleasure as it burned in the best kind of way. She turned the bottle around so Eyelaya could see the brand and what it was called. "It's real, so we'll go slow, but it'll help this conversation and help me unwind," she poured another, "please continue."
"I don't know." She sat down. "Grol was a friend..is a friend. We seemed to understand each other in a misfit kind of way and it was good but then last night happened.... well this morning."
"I don't see a problem," Adrianna downed the shot and refilled.
She sighed. "But we were friends. Friends aren't suppose to.. you know."
"Friends that slept together one time," Adrianna offered, "has it changed the way you feel about him?" Adrianna refilled the glasses.
"Well......kind of."
"Keep drinking," Adrianna nudged the shot towards Eyelaya, "what happened?"
"Well...I kind of discovered that I actually like Grol. More then a friend." She paused. "He has so many qualities that want and when we...well you know I just feel like a flood gate of feelings opened up." She leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes. "Feelings that I wasn't sure about before nor was I prepared to acknowledge."
Adrianna nodded, "how did you leave it?" Adrianna topped up the glasses again.
"We had breakfast together. It was ... nice."
Adrianna nodded, "not awkward and filled with 'nice' and regret. That's good." Adrianna filled the glasses and looked to the bottle, half gone. "What's the problem then?"
"I don't think he feels the same." She sighed.
"For that, you need a big one," Adrianna topped the shot glass off to the top instead of a measure, "I'm afraid that 'thinking' the result will hinder even a friendship. You need to talk to him. Without this in your system."
She laughed, "This...tis is nothing. I've had...what woo glassesess and I'm okai."
Adrianna raised a brow again as if to query 'really', "how about, you just drink and then we'll sleep it off and then you talk to him in the morning?"
"Truth?"
"Truth?" Adrianna asked unsure what Eyelaya meant.
"Oh sorry I forget that nobody can read minds. Do I tell him how I feel?"
"You tell him whatever is in your mind--all of it," Adrianna replied.
She laughed. "Oh...dis is strong." She said turning the empty glass upside down. She reached for the bottle. "Gonna have one more."
Adrianna chuckled, "thank you. Family brand."
