Picnic with a Motive

Eyelaya headed over to Adrianna's office. Because of the nature of her department the office was sealed and she had to wait until a petty officer in intel went to get Adrianna. She sighed as she waited outside. Her mind was racing with ways to approach her friend with the request she had.

Adrianna soon appeared, "Eyelaya, come on in. I've cleared my office." Adrianna was surprised at Eyelaya making an appearance. The two hadn't really spoken much in a while. It was just the way the shift pattern had fallen.

Eyelaya smiled. "Thanks." She followed Adrianna into the office. "I'm sorry we haven't talked in a while it's been...a brutal time."

Adrianna waived her off, "it's fine. Don't worry. I've now got a Russian, ex boyfriend on board and a pending trip to an active war zone because I actually tried to do something nice for someone." They entered her office and Adrianna went to the replicator, "drink?"

"Sure. And you do know that you have to tell me that story." She grinned.

Adrianna chuckled, "that involves a hell lot of alcohol and a cold shower. How have you been." Adrianna passed Eyelaya a glass of a juice and sat down, "I see you brought lunch. What news do you bring? Last time it was about Grol."

She laughed and then blushed. "Yes there is that. But I actually came with food to bribe you for a favour."

Adrianna smiled, "I bribed you with grappa, you can bribe me with food. Go ahead."

"I need your help with Mac."

"Mac?" she asked, surprised, "of course. What can I do?"

"Its actually Haru his ... partner. He's depressed and Mac is depressed and it's a cycle."

"Well, yes," Adrianna replied, "that's clear, but how can I help?"

"I figure we'd take Haru on a picnic tonight."

"I'm note sure I follow the train of thought," Adrianna replied, unsure, "are you suggesting respite for Mac?"

"Yes, Mac needs a night to himself and Haru needs a change of scenery."

Adrianna nodded, "Alright. I assume by the fact this is a bribe, it's tonight."

She smiled. "Was hoping it could be...but I have no idea where to take him that won't make matters worse."

Adrianna thought about it and rummaged to find a PaDD. She looked through it a moment, "holo is free for a few hours or, we can go to the observation deck where no one will be until morning."

"Let's do holo. I want to get him out of the hover chair I want to get his mind off his troubles for a few hours."

Adrianna nodded booking it. She then asked, "I have to ask, why do you feel you need me with you?" She paused, "I'm not complaining, nor backing out. I'm just curious."

Eyelaya smiled. "Haru likes you better then me for some reason."

"Why does that sound like more of an insult?" Adrianna lightly teased.

She smiled, "It's not. He's just got that warrior way about him and I talk too much. This way he has a friend he's comfortable around and so do I."

Adrianna chuckled, "I'll see you tonight."

She smiled. "Thanks!"
