Ekos 9 - Heruntergebrochen

Posted on Monday, 19 April 2021 - 2:12pm by Lieutenant JG Adrianna Eberhardt & Crewman Leopold Eberhardt

Mission: Operation: Peace or P'Jem

It had been a few days since his sister had left him, his father had been executed, and he had been forcefully separated from Adrianna. Leopold felt like a rat in a cage when he was in his small prison cell. Clearly, he was being held like his parents as some sort of political threat, a member of the Zeon resistance movement. He, however, was none of those things. He was just a young man who came home because his family was in danger. A guard had come to take him away to who knew where for who knew what. They had practically tortured him the past few days for information that he did not have.

The guard pushed Leopold quite forcefully into the room, "take a seat. The officer will be in shortly."

A woman, cuffed to a chair, sat in an interrogation room. Her head was hung in defeat, hair matted with dried blood. Small patches of blood seemed to stain a tie dye effect with her clothes. A small trail of fresh blood ran down her wrist, forming a path to the tip of her finger and formed a droplet onto the floor beneath. The woman was breathless, almost whining with every breath.

Leopold barely recognized Adrianna. Whatever they had done to her, they had been thorough about it. "Ade," he called to her softly. "Ade, it's me. I'm here" he added trying to get a response from her. The death of his sister had caused a storm inside of him, and they were crossing into dangerous waters by doing this to Adrianna.

Adrianna slowly lifted her head, barely having the energy to do so. Her hair parted around her face to reveal a horror of injuries that barely touched the surface as to what had gone on. Her eye socket was probably fractured, along with her cheek bone and nose, her lip had been split and various cuts were formed on her other cheek and neck. Dried blood graced every curve of her face, contouring the swelling and masking some bruising.

"Leo?" she whispered.

"Yeah," he echoed back. "It's me," he added. He looked her over. He shuddered to think what they had put her through. "Ade, don't take this the wrong way, but I don't think you are winning any beauty pageants back home anytime soon."

Adrianna smiled a little, "didn't take you long in our relationship to no longer appreciate my looks." Her reply was in Italian. The woman barely had energy to speak, let alone think in anything other than what was native to her, "apparently this is what happens when you injure an officer and then shoot him with a phaser only set to stun when you return to a prison."

She hung her head back down, tired, "he really is an Asshole compensating for a small penis."

Just then, the guard came in. He had been the one Adrianna had 'shamed'. His knuckles were bloodied but he seemed to look exhillorated. He looked to Leopold demanding, "Eberhardt, you know the language she is speaking?"

"Not entirely, no," Leopold replied. It wasn't entirely true yet it was not completely a lie. "She is from Earth. She's speaking an older language from before the Federation, but I do not know much."

He looked at Adrianna. "Definitely," he replied back to her in Italian. "She says the prison food is terrible, and that shes worried about me."

The guard nodded, "Don't try to be smart. I know she speaks our language. I've heard you two. I am willing to cut out her tongue or continue what I started to ensure she speaks our tongue if you don't understand. I need her name, her role and any information that will help us get back every zeon pig back into these walls."

Adrianna muttered, "Adrianna Nani Baciami, I'm a Capo for Baciami Mafia. You can find the zeon pigs up your ass along with whatever guard you've decided you want to make love to." She looked to Leopold wondering if he'd actually translate, or if she could keep the humour. Gawd she needed some comedic relief.

The guard looked to Leopold, "you at the least get that?"

"Mmmm," Leopold began. "You know, I have a hard time with her language. I think she either said she looks forward to hearing you squeal like Zeon pig, or she may have been saying that I smell like a farm animal."

The guard grabbed Adrianna by the hair, yanking it back so she was looking at him, "you need to cooperate."

Adrianna yelped at the sharp pain and her breathing rate increased a little. Adrianna stared up to the guard un phased by the interrogation technique. The woman had been through worse, her father had ensured that none of his children would break under any circumstances, often arranging kidnappings. She said, "he really does smell like a farm animal."

Adrianna hesitated a moment and tried to pull away, "Is there an alternative location we could send them to? Or specifically send them to that cave?" She didn't make it sound like a question with initination, so as not to alert the guard.

The guard looked to Leopold for answers, not letting go of her, only pulling a little harder at her struggle.

Adrianna spoke again, though strained. Her exposed neck, clearly showed that she'd had hands around her neck at some point, "Leopold, I need you to pretend to break. Send them to the fucking cave."

Leopold grumbled. He didn't want to 'break' but for her, he would. "Okay, I'll get them to go to the caves that are rigged to blow." He took a deep breath. "If I could get into the prisons radio room..."

He had a plan to do something, but it was ambitiously dangerous.

The guard slapped Adrianna's face with the back of his hand. The sound echoed a little and she dropped his hold. He looked to Leopold and forcefully pulled him up from his seat. "Good, move."

Adrianna spat out some blood on the floor and muttered, but in broken standard, "I will enjoy tearing you limb from limb once I free, you piece shit."

The guard let go of Leopold and turned to Adrianna. Rage engulfed his eyes but he just glared. It was clear he was about to snap, but was calculating how he would do it.

"STOP!" Shouted Leopold in German. He switched over to his native Ekosian tongue. "She's not worth your energy. Save it for Zeons, I'll show you on a map where the resistance is operating out of in the mountains where you found us."

The guard relaxed a little, looking to Leopold, "if she makes it out of here, it will be in a coffin and I would be the one to put her in there unless you muzzle her. Am I clear?"

"Crystal," he replied.

Adrianna looked up a little. She was somewhat grateful that he had stopped the guard. Her temper was on edge and she didn't mean to say it with consequence. Adrianna finally looked broken. Her hardened exterior could no longer mask her internal battles and pains. In Italian, she said softly, "I'm sorry."

Leopold looked at Adrianna. "It will be fine. I'll handle this, just try to act pleasant." How he would handle it wasn't sure, but he was plotting something. "She will be more cooperative now. She's a mouthy woman, but she is smart too."

The guard nodded and forcefully removed Leopold from the room and out to somewhere they could discuss map locations of zeons.

Adrianna watched them leave and once the door closed she looked up to the ceiling. Her lips whispered a short prayer which was interrupted by another guard coming in to release her. The woman was weak and two guards had to drag her back to the cell as she could barely find her feet.

When she returned, the woman was practically thrown onto her barely there bed. The woman listened to the footsteps get more distant before she began to cry into her inch thick, threadbear mattress.

"Gawd help me. Please."
