ON:
Apparently, doing something before bed suaded your dreams but imagination and the ability to over think things made for horrific nightmares. She sat up a little, feeling a cold sweat and sighed. Adrianna looked around, still seeing darkness. It must have been the middle of the night.
The woman got comfy again and was soon back to her slumber. The slumber would surely help her feel better in the long run.

Eyelaya sat in the mess hall staring out the small view port. Adrianna would be back by now but Eyelaya did not see her out. She sat somewhat frozen staring out into space.
Fresh from the med bay but still walking quite stiffly, Adrianna ignored the 'you need to rest' mantra that had been instructed and headed to the mess hall for something alcoholic. She wasn't really to be alone in their quarters yet. She wasn't ready to close her eyes in case of nightmares.
She grabbed a drink and looked around at the nearing empty mess hall. Her eyes caught sight of Eyelaya and she quietly sat down opposite her. Breaking the silence and focus she asked, "penny for your thoughts?"
Eyelaya jumped a little startled. "Oh! I was going to come and see you tomorrow." She smiled a little, it didn't reach her eyes. "Welcome back. How was the trip?"
"Nazi ridden planet Ekos is beautiful this time of year," Adrianna sipped her drink to punctuate the sarcasm, "in short, unsuccessful. That said, both myself and Leopold are here, back on the ship and more or less signed off by the doctor."
She look Eyelaya over, "who stole your smile?"
She sighed. "A long story. Good news though I got the captain to perform your wedding and there is so much for you to approve."
Adrianna sat back in her seat, "that is good news and we'll sort that later. But right now, I need that story."
She rubbed the bridge of her nose. "Oh you know, the counselor tried to take over the ship I tried to stop her got sick after. Grol has been pushing me to go to the med bay...I kept resisting...finally went."
"I'm still catching up, but heard about the counsellor," Adrianna nodded, "surely medbays fixed you up. So what am I missing?"
"I'm...pregnant."
Adrianna nodded, "that's a bad thing?"
She covered her face with her hands. "I don't know." The tears started to fall again.
Adrianna sat forward, "it's OK to not be sure, you know. It's also OK for it to be a good thing, or a bad thing. The dad know?"
She shook her head. "Grol doesn't know. He's not even sure about us how can I tell him about this?"
"You be blunt," Adrianna replied, "don't sugar coat it. Just tell him. Privately."
She sighed. "I'm not sure I can."
"You can and you will," Adrianna replied, "his reaction will tell you everything you need to know about your relationship. Equally, it may suade your opinion of what this means for you. Either way, you have me." Adrianna reached over and put a somewhat bruised hand softly on Eyelaya's arm, "that's a promise."
Eyelaya hugged her friend. "I'm sorry... I just can't stop crying these days."
Adrianna chuckled a little, "hormones, I guess. My sister in laws were the same." Adrianna flinched at the hug, still sore, "sorry, piccolina, need you to release me."
Eyelaya looked up. "OH MY GOSH! Adrianna what happened? Let's get you to sickbay! I can't believe I didn't notice!"
"I've just come from Sick Bay," Adrianna groaned, "they've fixed everything that was broken, but I still ache. Few extra scars, but nothing I will die from now." She sat back down and looked to Eyelaya, "apparently strong women need to keep their mouth shut and not put a man in their place, when needed, on Ekos."
"Alright! We're gong there and you'll show me who did this and i'll kick their ass!"
"I'm good," she replied, "in his defence, he needs testicular retrieval surgery, his shoulder putting back in and perhaps to see a cardiologist after I shot him with an old, and probably faulty, phaser that was set to 'stun', but he went out like a light." Adrianna shifted uncomfortably, "that, and I have no plan on returning. I would go back to Rome before stepping foot on the same planet that bred that monster."
She sighed. "Okay, you go rest. I'll come check on you in the morning and we'll have breakfast."
"I'll be here for a little longer, yet," Adrianna downed her drink and poured another. She sighed, "I just don't want to be alone for a little while."
"Well that I can do." She grinned. "How about we go to my quarters and watch movies?"
Adrianna smiled a little and nodded, "that sounds really good, actually." Adrianna then groaned, "I should though. Leopold needs me. He lost a lot on Ekos. I'm selfish for being here, but I just--." She stopped herself, "a lot happened on Ekos."
"And its fair to be worried about him but you need to take care of yourself."
Ade shook her head, "you don't understand. I mean, yes, I got injured but he watched his father get executed and watched his sister die and we were dragged away straight after. Literally had people over our shoulders as we dag a grave. He's had no time to grieve. He's not OK. He's--" the woman was unsure on how to phrase it, "he's different." She took a breath, "I have not been in a position before where I've been needed as a support. I don't know what to do. I feel like I've just been thrown in at the deepend and told to swim. How do I even begin to help?"
"Ah.. okay. Well okay there are several ways to approach this. The main thing is to be there if he wants to talk and to be there if he doesn't. Tell me what does he like to do as a hobbie, a way to get his mind off things."
"He's a tinker-er-er," Adrianna fumbled for the word, "not sure I can just throw a broken PaDD at him and ask him to fix it."
"No but you can ask me for something broken and you can ask him to teach you. It will occupy his mind and bond you closer. When he finishes fixing it you can break it again in front of him and ask him to teach you again, it will show him that you want to be close to him that you listen to him and he will open up ore to you."
Adrianna offered a small hopeful smile, "yes, please. Can I have something broken. Preferably not heavy."
She smiled. "Let's go to engineering I have lots of stuff I use for tinkering."
Adrianna finished her drink then stood up stiffly, "lead the way."

"Wake up!" a guard bellowed, rapping a batton like item over the bars, "breakfast!"
Adrianna caught herself before she fell out of bed from the rude awakening and saw a tray of food pushed under the bars. It was less than appetising and if Adrianna had to guess, without knowing she'd say it was cat vomit that had been eaten and re thrown up. The Italian turned her nose up, but knew she'd need to eat it.
Adrianna pulled the tray the rest of the way and continued her internal narrative on analysing her dream. Her dream had made certain one thing: she had made a home and had friends on board the Standing Bear, and indeed Starfleet, and she longed to return.
