Mission: Operation: Neu Reich
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: MD11

"Doctor Rose?"

Barefoot, Lieutenant Kingsley stood in the doorway of the good doctor's office, offering a sheepish yet hopeful smile. While rest had been prescribed, she had awoken for a second time feeling a million times better. And so she had decided to take full advantage of her husband's current absence from her bedside to seek out the one person who might actually let her leave sickbay without a fuss. And honestly, if she had still been in her own clothes she probably would have not even made even this much effort.

Finding said person was easy. Doctor Rose seemed to gravitate back towards his office on a regular basis so it had seemed a good place to start.

Ryan looked up from the couch, where he'd had his nose buried in a medical journal. "Hello Alex." He smiled. "Feeling better?" He asked.

"Much, thanks," she smiled, her nod sending her curls bouncing around. "I was hoping for maybe an early release? I am one hundred percent okay with offering a bribe if it is possible to sway your decision in my favour."

Ryan chuckled, and stood up. "Let me just do a quick scan, if everything looks good, I can spring you from sickbay."

"Thank you," she said as she backed up from the door to make way for him and headed back towards her little corner of the bay. Pushing herself back up onto the bed she let him gather whatever he needed. A bribe would have been faster, sneaking out even more so. But with the later she might just push their mild mannered doctor too far and Soral would just haul her back anyways. This way, she had logic on her side to any objections her husband had.

"Soral said Lieutenant Rogers was okay, is she?" Alex asked to break the silence. Soral had a habit of being... selective, when he told her things and she was genuinely concerned about her fellow scientist.

Ryan would never release information about a patient, but he could say the bare minimum. "She's been released from sickbay. I'm sure she'd be happy to hear from you." Ryan did a quick scan. While he had her there, and he wasn't dealing with anything acute, he did a quick check on her neural inhibitor. "The neural inhibitor is functioning well. Have you noted any odd occurrences?"

"No, but good to know getting zapped didn't do any damage," she commented as she touched it. "Can't wait to be rid of it. It's irritating. Not painful or anything just annoying. But no, nothing odd. Then again it was to stop other people's telepathy harming my recovery so I guess nothing odd is good? And thanks. I'll catch up with her soon."

"Yes, nothing is good." Ryan smiled in agreement. "Luckily it has a pretty good tolerance against electrical surges." He closed up his tricorder. "Ok, everything looks good. If I find cookies on my desk, you can sneak out." He teased.

"You have yourself a deal," she smiled before she decided in for a penny and all that. "Ryan... has Soral spoken to you? About his... condition and the whole bonding thing?"

Ryan sighed. "Alex, you know I can't answer that. You'd need to speak to him about it. Which I would recommend by the way."

“Soral… he would tell me black is white if he thought it was protecting me. He’s talking about stasis, actual stasis!” she ran her hand through her hair as she sighed in frustration. “Just… please don’t let him do something stupid because he thinks it is better for me. Please?”

"Not if I can help it, I promise." He wished he could tell her something more concrete, but patient confidentiality prevented him, even though Alex was Soral's spouse. "I'll do everything I can for him."

She offered him a grateful smile. “Thank you. I’ll make sure you get extra cookies.”

"You're very welcome, and I'll sign you out all official like, so you don't get dragged back here without cause."

“You are most kind,” she grinned, feigning a aristocratic English accident, “maybe date night isn’t ruined after all.”

He chuckled. "Have fun."

“Always,” she smiled, sliding back down from the table. “See you in a week so you can see if my brain is still weird?”

Ryan smiled and nodded. "You know where to find me."
