Just an FYI

Mission: Operation: Lazarus

Back from honeymooning and with a little courage in her pocket, she wandered into med bay. She spotted Ryan and called out, holding up a small PaDD, "Doctor Rose, a moment?" She gestured to his office.

Ryan gave Adrianna a brief nod, then followed the woman into his office, closing the door behind them. He headed to the replicator, realizing he was thirsty. “Can I get you anything?” He asked, as he got himself a glass of water.

Adrianna nodded, "just a water. I won't keep you long." She placed the PaDD the doctor on Risa had given her. The opened PaDD was showing that the doctor had found her to be pregnant whilst on her honeymoon.

Ryan handed one of the glasses over to Adrianna, then sat down. He took a healthy swig from his own water, then pulled up the PaDD to read. He smiled, then looked up “That’s great.” Then paused. “That’s great..right?”

Adrianna smiled, "it's a shock… but yes, all good news." She sat back, "I think it's nice to have a few positive things to make up for Ekos." She paused, "that said, I've only just been cleared for duties, albeit light duties. My head is still - ugh - but I'm working on it with Vali. What happens now?"

“Well we get you going with prenatal care.” Ryan explained. “Supplements good for pregnancy, regular scans to make sure everything looks good. There’s nothing in your file to make me think it will be a high risk pregnancy, so mostly we just let nature take its course.” He grinned.

Adrianna nodded, "I've got enough aunts, uncles and brothers to make this sound like it'll be a good pregnancy." She chuckled, "I'd appreciate your discretion on this one. I'm barely back and I don't want people second guess my authority and my fitness to return. I need to regain control whilst I still can."

“Of course Confidentiality as long as I can. There are a few cases in which I’d have to at least let the CO know, but other than that, I’ll keep my mouth shut.”

"Understood," Adrianna replied, "I'm sure I'm overreacting but I need this."

“It’s fine.” Ryan assured her. “I understand.” He paused. “Do you have an appointment to speak with T’Lanna?” He asked.

"Weekly, scheduled since our first, minus a break for our honeymoon," she replied honestly, "something wrong?"

“Not at all.” He smiled.”I just wanted to make sure you were taking care of yourself.”

Adrianna ran a hand over her face, "I'm trying. Struggling. But trying. Nightmares still go round. Flashbacks are still at the forefront."

“That takes awhile.” Ryan took a sip of water. “It’s actually a good sign. Being asymptomatic would be worrisome.”

Adrianna chuckled, "I'm not that much of a psychopath. I mean, I have my moments, but come on. Even I crack sometimes. I'd imagine people thought I'd come back better than I did. Instead I cried."

“Nothing wrong with a good cry now and then.”

Adrianna nodded, "first time in years. In fact, I don't even remember the last time I did." She thought about it but came up clueless. Aside from crying alone in solitary or with Leopold, once whilst on Ekos, she really hadn't in a while. It had been relieving, "from what I remember my mother saying, I'm convinced I'm about to get hormonal, so I guess I'll be crying more. Either way, let me know when you next need to see me. That scan was only a week or so ago."

“I will, and come see me if you feel the need, or if you just want tea. I am trying to spend some time away from sickbay, but don’t hesitate to call if you need me.”

Adrianna nodded, "appreciate it. I'm trying to do the same, but at my office." The woman stood up and nodded a goodbye, "thanks, Doctor."
