Selin rubbed the bridge of her nose, trying to fend off a tension headache. She was short staffed, over worked, and under supplied. A supply ship which would bring both supplies and staff was on its way, but was days out. Her thoughts drifted to Soral, and while she knew nothing could become of them romantically, there was no reason she couldn't continue to communicate with the man. She started a subspace call to him.

Soral had been working through the Dark Nebula Data. He had a briefing set in a few hours and he wanted to get that done. Feeling tired and drained he headed to the replicator to get a cup of coffee. After picking it up he got back to his station just in time to see a subspace call coming in. He hit the on button and waited for the Starfleet insignia to change over to the face of the caller. It took only a few seconds and the face that started back at him brought back a rush of emotions. "Selin, It is pleasurable to see you." Wasn't the best opening line but he really was pleased to hear from her.

"And you as well." Selin smiled. "I hope I am not disturbing you?"

"No. You are saving me from reports. I count that as a debt owed." He studied her face. She was still beautiful. Selin would always be special to him. "How have you been?"

"I have been very busy. We are understaffed. Starfleet allows too many transfers before assigning more crew, and has been slow with supplies. I am well however. How are things on the Fontana?"

"I am glad you are well." He paused as if studying her face. "Things are as well as can be expected. We have just explored a dark nebula and have found a floating drone. The captain was away on a mission of her own but has returned." He shrugged. "There have been a lot of changes." He thought a moment. "I have experienced some discomfort since coming out here. I am beginning to theorize that it has to do with this region of space."

"Fascinating. Are you the sole member of the crew experiencing discomfort?" The scientist in Selin was intrigued. She moved off camera for a moment, grabbing a cup of tea before returning to the screen.

"Indeed. I have been ill with headaches, several bleeding noses and doctor Rose has found that my telepathic centre has been over active but I have not used my telepathy."

"That is indeed very odd. Would you like me to take a look at the scans? I'm sure Doctor Rose would not mind sending them over."

"That would be appreciated. I do not know what is occurring. And...I have odd dreams."

"Dreams can often be odd. These are especially odd?" Selin asked, her concern and curiosity both piqued.

"Yes..at first I did not recognize the setting but it's from a series of fantasy novels I have red but the woman that appears in them she is always the same, half Romulan and half Vulcan. She's ... annoying asks many questions." He shook his head.

"I shall take a look at the scans. I am intrigued. Is everything else well, the crew, your sister?" She asked.

He sighed, "My sister will marry soon. T'Aurora has contacted me to cement our wedding. I have begun to pay the bride price but....I do not with to marry." He looked uncomfortable. "I have begun studying Ancient Vulcan ways to reject the marriage and still keep my sisters valid...It is not going well."

He looked at her. "I am grateful for our time together. You have given me more then you will know."

"Duty can be an extreme burden. I am very thankful for our time together as well. So long as we are able, I would like to continue to communicate. I find it very calming to speak with you."

"And I you." He had the urge to reach out but suppressed it. "Tell me more of your day, your work. Have you seen the other Vulcans on the station? Has the ship gone back to the colony?" He liked the sound of her voices, it chased the shadows of the day.

"The Seleya-Kal has returned to the colony." Selin talked about her day, sharing small tidbits without breaking any patient confidentiality. It was only a few minutes though and her com-badge chirped. "My apologies Soral, I must return to work."

He gave a nod. "No apology necessary. He allowed himself to touch the screen. "Be well Selin. We shall speak again soon."

"Indeed. Peace and long life." With that Selin cut the call.
