CO Special Announcement

Dear Writers,

I usually leave Kat to make news announcements, but I thought I would take this time to make a few special announcements. Firstly, I want to thank each of you for the past several months. A lot of you have been with the Standing Bear from the start and a handful of you have smashed posting numbers by cracking the triple digits! Just let that sink in for a moment. Surpassing 100 posts is a big accomplishment for a sim especially one that is not even a year old yet, and some of you individually have 100+ posts to your account. The Standing Bear itself in raw data posting has 444 total posts! There are literally sims still active for ten years that haven’t touched those numbers yet. So, all around, FANTASTIC JOB!

I have added a few awards to the site’s award system; however, these are just to reflect the Theta Fleet fleet-level awards. So, if anyone wins a fleet-level award for the month (soon to add quarter and year) it can be reflected on your own Standing Bear writer account.

SEPTEMBER 2020 THETA FLEET AWARDS

Now, that said, there is a good reason why I added those. Today, Theta Fleet released their most recent news article which announced the September 2020 Fleet Awards as well as the Fleet’s Third Quarter Awards. We have only just recently joined Theta Fleet. So, I was not really expecting us to win too much right off the bat. You, however, proved me wrong in that regard.

Theta Fleet has recognized the crew as a whole for the 2020 third quarter. This crew’s dedication and putting a mixture of quality and quantity has earned us recognition as Theta Fleet Sim of the Quarter, a tie with our friends aboard the USS Crazy Horse.

Kim Finney, writer of Talarn Zilth has secured the USS Standing Bear with a fleet-level monthly award! Theta Fleet recognizes Kim as Player of the September 2020 Month! Her awesome character development and commitment to playing the long game with her character has made for some fantastic posts and a character well worth watching.

For September 2020, we also managed to co-win the Gold Unit of Distinction for our incredible activity for the month of September. We were neck and neck with the USS Tokyo and we finished strong with the Tokyo at our side.

Lastly, in recognition for this crew’s passion and commitment, it was decided that the USS Standing Bear earned the Task Group Award of Merit for September 2020. I can personally vouch that this is more than simply a sim. It is more than several writers who stop in once in a while and contribute creative content. Several months in and with the majority of the crew being here from Day 1, I can honestly say that the USS Standing Bear is above and beyond a simming community. We are a close-knit family and I look forward to our continued creative adventures.
