Since 1999 Ongoing Worlds has conducted their Tournament of Sims in which a panel of judges selected from the swimming community across various fleets and independent waters come together to judge dozens of entrants and determined which sims are of the best quality and caliber for said year. This is one of several awards or honors that Ongoing Worlds conducts yearly. They are a wonderful supportive site that aims to push fleet politics aside and focus on swimming as a whole.

Ever since I began simming in 2002, I have personally been in pursuit of something from Ongoing Worlds because I have always aimed to aspire high, and in the simming community, it would have been a delight to gain recognition from them. Deep down I doubted that recognition would ever come, but if 2020 has shown us anything it is that we (A) need to expect the unexpected and (B) can do anything if we come together cohesively. Getting recognition stopped being an 'I' thing for me long ago as I matured past my teenage years. It became a 'We' thing, and I have always felt my crews deserving.

Today, it came. I can with great joy and honor say that you all collectively did it! Against a total of 64 sims from various fleets in the simming community, the USS Standing Bear not only was nominated as a participating sim, but made it to the end of the 2020 Ongoing Worlds Tournament of Sims. Your hard work, passion, and commitment to both quality and quantity brought the USS Standing Bear across the finish line. We have officially been recognized by Ongoing Worlds as one of the "Great Star Trek" sims of the year 2020.

Thank you for continued support and thank you for lifting one another up during these troubling times across the world. You are are the heart and soul that keeps the USS Standing Bear what it is.
