We have successfully crossed through what was the Federation-Romulan neutral zone and plowed through as direct of a course as we possibly could through former Romulan space, almost without incident. My First Officer suffered a telepathic attack of some sort, technological in nature as I would later come to realize when we made contact with an unknown vessel. It would appear as though the vessel in question had been following us for some time, arguably prior to us exiting the unstable wormhole. My suspicions are that they used our wake to successfully navigate in tow behind us. The fact we managed to make it through relatively intact leads me to believe they were in even worse condition. It seems plausible that while we were held at a dead stop working on sensor repairs, that the vessel was sitting cloaked near us making their own repairs as we sat in the ruins of the stars once belonging to a fallen empire.

Our Chief Science Officer and one of our more experienced tactical officers were the ones to initially detect and later expose our unwanted shadow. Chief Eyelya has something to do with it but is not responsible to the best of my knowledge. Lieutenant Commander Soral has taken the responsibility of looking into the matter in question. Nevertheless, our encounter was brief, tense, but we walked away from it without having to fire any weapons. Part of me suspects we had the tactical advantage or that they simply lost the element of surprise. We know they are out there. I have my crew constantly scanning for anything remotely tachyon.

The search for Commander Stillwater’s whereabouts is in continuation. I have dispatched three of our four shuttles and our Captain’s Gig, the runabout Casablanca to several planets in the Triangle Sector as well as the runabout to the Qiris sector. My thoughts and hopes are that casting a wide net in this region will either yield intel results or if Stillwater is in the region, smoke him out from wherever he is hiding. It is intriguing to me that we have determined this region to be a potential hiding place. It honestly was an excellent choice, right in front of us the whole time if this pans out. Let’s hope for the best.
