The Average Day

Mission: Operation: Recall
Location: USS Fontana | Various
Timeline: 2393

{ON}

They had arrived back at the ship with the probe data. Soral had left Alex to it not wanting to, one, get in her way and two not wanting to face the mutual attraction that they were feeling for one another.

No, she was better off on her own getting he data digested. He had other things to tend to. A quick update of the CO and then he had bridge duty. They were holding outside the nebula for the moment to give Alex time as well as to finish some last minute Engineering issues so that they could attempt the nebula trek.

Soral went to his quarters, showered, changed uniforms and headed to Engineering. He'd stop there first, then update Victrix as they changed shifts. Tonight would be a long night.

Entering engineering he noted the the Chief Engineering Officer and the ACEO were both not there.

The third in command Ensign Waters came up to him. "Sir. How can I help?"

"Where is everyone?"

She bit her lower lip. "There was an issue with the matter and antimatter mix. we're attempting to correct it. Also the impulse drive is having issues."

He raised an eyebrow. It appeared that they had left the station too quickly.

"What's the ETA of the fixes?"

"We're expecting two days at most sir."

Victrix was not going to like this. "I want a full report to my bridge terminal in one hour."

"Aye sir." Waters saluted and left.

Soral, for his part headed to pick up Bones and then headed to the bridge. When he arrived he left the Dog to sit under his bridge seat and he and Victrix spoke in her ready room before she went off shift and he took over.

It all happened so quickly and before long his terminal lit up with reports. He sat on the bridge having decided to pull a double shift both Beta and night in order to catch up. He contacted Engineering hourly and the work was progressing but it was slow.

As his shift neared the middle he looked at the flashing message on his screen. It appeared he had a blacksmitthing student. He stared ahead at the screen allowing his mind time to wonder.

This would be interesting.

He read the message again. The desire to find out what would be took hold of him. He could feel his heart pounding as he sent a message back. The rest of the shift passed in a haze and a new day was dawning. He would shower, change, and then head to the holodeck to see what would develop there.

He hadn't slept much nor would he for a while. He'd re-jigged his internal clock and thusly he could last without sleep for days if needed.
