~ Intel Office, during events on the bridge ~

T’Lanna was in the intelligence office getting used to her role as head of the intelligence, at least until they had a department Chief assigned to the position. As a psychologist she was used to work8ng alongside the intelligence officers, gathering information she needed but she never thought she’d be acting chief.

She’d just finished pouring through Stillwater’s file yet again in hopes of finding more information, getting up she headed for the replicator when the ride got anything but smooth. She grabbed onto the nearest thing to stabilise herself but the eventual lurch forward of the ship threw her half way across the room, landing with a wallop and leaving her lying there winded.

She gave it a few moments to get her bearings and catch her breath before slowly getting up. She was pretty sure she’d probably fractured or broken a rib or two and she had a small head wound as well, and she was still finding it hard to breathe so she slowly made her way out of the office to head for Sickbay.

~ Sickbay, A little while later ~

As she arrived at Sickbay T’Lanna wasn’t surprised to see other wounded already there. She stood waiting to see when someone would be free to see her.

Ryan spotted T'Lanna, and held up a finger in the 'just a moment' gesture. He then grabbed his medical tricorder out of his pocket. His lab coat had seen much better days, and he removed it to be washed. He personally had no problem with the smell of vomit, but it wasn't pleasant, and he'd seen it happen more than once that the smell alone, caused others to vomit as well. Finally out of his dirty labcoat, and tricorder in hand he made his way the short distance to T'Lanna

“Hi Doc...long time no see!” T’Lanna joked as she smiled at Ryan. “The sudden stop sent me flying, my ribs took a pounding and this..” She motioned to her head wound. “Let’s just say I hurt all over!”

Ryan smiled. "Hello again." The bio beds were filling up, but he led her to a free one. "Do you need some help getting on the bio bed?" He asked, his hand kind of awkwardly posed near her waist without actually crossing into her personal space.

“I don’t...” She moved to get on the biobed before giving Ryan a sheepish look. “Yes please.”

"No problem." Ryan held her gently but firmly at the waist, and with a doctor's sure hand helped her up on the biobed.

“Thank you” T’Lanna offered a smile. “I was heading for the replicator when the fast stop threw me. I had nothing to hang onto to be able to stop myself.” She looked around then back at Ryan. “Given the amount of emotion on ship and what I’m getting, my senses are definitely a little foggy.”

"You've got a nice goose egg here." Ryan noted. "Any double vision, nausea?" Ryan asked, as he pulled the larger scanner over.

“No double vision but the initial impact made me see stars.” She offered a brief smile. “As for nausea I could say yes, but then I’ve been having that regularly anyway, morning sickness has definitely set in with a vengeance.”

Ryan nodded. "I know you know this, but that's actually a good thing. It's a sign that the embryo is healthy." He looked over the scanner. "You did take a bit of a tumble." Ryan could tell from the scans. He made his actions slow and clear, as he place his hands gently on her sides, and adjusted her seated position to be more comfortable on her ribs until he could take care of them. He put a small device on her goose egg, then grabbed the osteo regenerator. "I know it hurts, but slow, deep breaths. You've got a couple of cracked ribs." Ryan's face was sympathetic.

“Thought...as much” T’Lanna nodded and instantly regretted it. “The baby is okay right? I was reading that it’s always best to be checked out after any kind of fall.” She was probably overreacting but asking couldn’t hurt.

"Absolutely fine. The body knows what it's doing, and the baby is very well protected." Ryan took a moment to let T'Lanna hear the babies heartbeat. "Nice and steady." Ryan assured her. "Hold still for me just a second. This is going to be a little tender, but I don't want to give you any narcotics if I don't have to." He pressed in as gently as he could to the second rib with the osteo regenerator to seal up the crack.

Feeling relieved her baby was okay, T’Lanna sucked in a breath as Ryan pressed in on her rib. He wasn’t kidding when he said it would be tender but it needed doing nonetheless. “Thank you Ryan” She offered a warm smile. “I’ll get out of your hair once you’re finished, you’ve got enough people to treat.”

"Actually once I'm done here, would you mind checking in on Crewman Ochoa. She came in with a sprained wrist, but seemed a little overly shaken. I just want to make sure she's ok, but I don't think I'm going to be getting out of here anytime soon."

“Of course” T’Lanna cautiously nodded, this time without getting a thumping headache. “I think this has got quite a lot of us shaken up. I appreciate your help both with my wounds and putting my mind at rest.”

"No problem." Ryan smiled. "That's what I'm here for. And thank you for checking on Ochoa."

T’Lanna nodded. “Does that mean I’m free to go?”

"Yes. But you know where to find me if anything crops up."

“I do indeed” T’Lanna smiled as she slowly slid down off the biobed. “I’ll give you a shout if I’m worried about anything.”

"Sounds good. Take care." Ryan waved at her, then turned to attend to other matters.
