Location: Enroute to Vulcan
Timeline: After “Duty & Family”

T’Lanna sat in the large guest quarters of her father’s starship, she’d been assigned the best quarters they had as the Admiral’s daughter which didn’t surprise her in the least. She hadn’t bothered to bring a lot with her, just the basic necessities she’d need for a visit home. It had been a fair few years since she’d departed Vulcan and wasn’t sure if she was looking forward to going back or not, but she had to be there for her mother’s funeral.

She gasped as she suddenly realised in her rush that she hadn’t let Raith know she was leaving. She quickly sat down to compose a heart felt message explaining her absence.

My Dearest Raith,

I’m so sorry I didn’t get to speak to you in person, I’m currently on my way home to Vulcan for my mother’s funeral. I was intending on remaining aboard but I realised that I needed to say my goodbyes properly, as well as be there for my father.

It’s been along time since I was last home, he’ll I'm not even sure I’m looking forward to it! I do need to be there though and I know that now.

Please forgive me for not saying a proper goodbye, I will return as soon as I can. The love I have for you will only grow stronger whilst we are apart.

She read it over, it was a basic message but it relayed her apologies and reassured Raith that she’d be back. Saving the message she made it a priority one communication for Raith before sending it. She wanted to make sure he’d get it as soon as possible.

Getting up she walked over to the window and looked out into the stars, as grand a ship as the Sovereign was she missed being aboard the Fontana. It felt more like home than any ship she’d served on so far. One thing was certain she was soon going to be bored sitting around in quarters until they got to Vulcan, it was a good job she brought along some of her reading.

Splurging out on the couch she started to read but it didn’t take long before the PADD was lying flat on her chest and she was fast asleep.
