Operation: Overdrive
Location: USS Fontana -- Various

Soral was strolling the ship's corridors, his daily walk. As he rounded the corner on the lower deck a sound drew his attention. He stopped and closed his eyes allowing his hearing to take over. He began to walk towards the sound. As he neared the door of one of the rooms he heard a loud crash and glass breaking. Looking quickly at the door he read the name.
Chief Petty Officer Eyelaya
He rang the chime twice. Tapping his communicator he said, "Soral to sickbay medical emergency!" He rattled off the deck and location. "Computer emergency override, Authorization Soral Alpha one Beta one."
Ryan grabbed a large but portable medical kit and slung it over his shoulder as he tapped his combadge. "On my way."
The computer chirped and within a few seconds the door hissed open. Soral entered the room and immediately saw the issue. A glass table was broken and in the midst of the glass the Chief Petty Officer lay on the ground struggling for breath.
Ryan ran the short distance to the Chief's quarters, then hurried inside. It took him only a moment to take in the scene. He pulled out his tricorder as he asked. "What happen?" He began scanning, needing to see if there were any spinal or head injuries before moving in. Clearly there was a respiratory issue.
Soral shook his head. "I do not know. I heard a sound of glass breaking and when she would not respond I used an emergency override."
Eyelaya gasped, "Am okay...go....gg...go ....way."
Soral raised an eyebrow. He took in the sight. She was hardly okay.
"Yeah sorry, that's not going to happen." Ryan spoke more under his breath than anything. He stooped down and gently lifted her off the glass before calling for a medical transport and telling them to have certain meds ready to go.
Soral stood with them. Within moments the transport arrived. "I shall follow." He said letting the doctor treat her.
Ryan got her into a private room immediately. With any mixed race, it was always a bit of a challenge to balance any necessary meds. He had a nurse start her on some oxygen and something to bring down her blood pressure a bit, at least until he could get to the root cause. Another nurse starting cleaning the bits of glass that were still stuck to Eyelaya. "Petty Officer." Ryan spoke gently. "Can you tell me what's going on?" He had a feeling this was at least partly mental, and hoped the woman could help shed some light on the problem.
Eyelaya looked around. Emerick was not there. She would have felt better if he was. "I'm...I'm okay." She'd calmed down quite a bit. She was slowly recovering. She had been able to keep her panic attacks in check but as of late the nightmares started again. This one had left her disoriented and as she'd headed to the bathroom She'd tripped. "I just...tripped." She said turning her head away a little.
Soral had slipped in and was watching from the door.
Ryan relaxed a bit, seeing that his initial suspicion was correct. "Ok, you're fine." He spoke soothingly. "Let's just finish getting this glass cleaned up." He realized his own hands were bleeding from where he'd scooped her up. He went to the in room sink and started cleaning them. "Do you need some help with breathing exercises, or another focusing technique?" He asked, more than willing to assist with either, but hoping just the distraction of the question might help a bit.
"I'm fine. It was just an accident." She sounded more stable.
Soral walked in further. "Doctor if you will." He turned and walked out waiting for the doctor to follow.
Ryan glanced at Eyelaya, but saw that she was more or less stable, so followed Soral out. "Yes Commander?" He asked once they were alone in the corridor outside the private room.
"Thoughts?" He asked, his hands clasped behind his back.
"With all due respect sir, I'll keep that between myself and my patient unless I have her consent to discuss it with you, or deem it necessary in the line of duty." What had been a simple injury case to begin with, one that the XO had witnessed, had turned into something potentially more private. Ryan would respect doctor patient confidentiality.
"Does she pose a threat to this ship?" he had his own ideas of what had happened but he'd speak with the CPO directly.
"Not that I can see at the moment. If that changes, I will immediately report it." Ryan looked back towards the door, wanting to check on Eyelaya, but she was with two nurses and the EMH was one shout away, so he let his team do their job.
"Very well. Once she is discharged have her see me." He turned and left.
"Yes sir." Ryan took a breath, and headed back into the room.
"Chief." He greeted.
Eyelaya was sitting up. "I'm fine. Really I just tripped." She looked around like a cornered animal. She hated sickbay. "Is Emerick here?"
"Of course." Ryan nodded for the nurses to leave. "I'll be right outside if you need me." He then called for the EMH and stepped outside. He could get a full report from Emerick later.
