T’Lanna had decided to take some time to visit the Starbase, she wanted to see what shops what along the promenade and see if there was anything she could find to buy herself. Strolling along she stopped to look in the window of a shop before the reflection of someone behind her caught her attention.

“T’Lanna? T’Lanna Vali is that you!?” The woman smiled looking genuinely shocked at the sight of seeing T’Lanna.

“Doctor Reid, it’s been a long time” T’Lanna offered a warm smile as she turned to face her old mentor.

“Long doesn’t do it T’Lanna it’s been ... forever!” Tara offered a brief hug before stepping back. “Look at you, you’ve changed so much since last time I saw you.”

“Last time you saw me I was heading off to Betazed University to start learning for my career.” T’Lanna motioned for Tara to join her as they walked over to some seats.

“So are you stationed here?” Tara looked at T’Lanna curiously. “I followed your career as far as when you joined JAG.”

“My ship is docked here” T’Lanna smiled. “I’m ship’s Psychologist aboard the USS Standing Bear.”

“A ship?” Tara nodded. “I didn’t think there were many ex Borg aboard ships these days?”

“There aren’t” T’Lanna nodded. “I guess I’m one of the lucky ones.”

Tara nodded but said nothing. Not that there was much to say on that point. “How are your implant sites?” She studied T’Lanna. “You look healthy so I take it that the reprogrammed nanites are doing the job they were intended to do?”

T’Lanna nodded. “Everyone is in good working condition, plus the implants enhance my abilitîes slightly as well now I’m used to using them.”

Tara nodded. “It’s wonderful to see that you’re doing so well. When we first met I had to wonder if the catatonic young woman I was called to help would ever be a fully functioning member of society. Now here you are!” She smiled the biggest smile yet. “I’m proud of you T’Lanna.”

T’Lanna couldn’t help but blush. “Thank you Tara. I never really appreciated you much back then did I? I treated you more like an invader than someone who was helping me, I’m sorry for that.”

“No need to apologise T’Lanna.” She smiled warmly. “If there’s ever anything you need you know how to get hold of me. We Psychologists need to stick together!”

“Indeed we do” T’Lanna nodded. “Have you seen my father recently?”

Reid shook her head. “No I haven’t I’m afraid, I hope he’s well?”

T’Lanna nodded. “We finally got to bury mum, we found her under ... mysterious circumstances, but at least she’s home now.”

Tara nodded. “I’m so sorry T’Lanna, but as you said at least she’s home now.” She looked at the PADD she had with her as an alarm sounded. “Sorry T’Lanna I’ve got to go, I have an appointment here on the station. I hope I’ll see you again.”

T’Lanna nodded. “Likewise Tara” The two stood and briefly hugged before Reid headed on her way leaving T’Lanna alone with her memories.
