Soral sat at his desk. He looked at Grol. "I see. And you are sure about this?"

Grol gave a nod. "I was in sickbay to get my allergy shot and nobody was there. The doctors were out on house calls and the nurse said the EMH might be able to help. I headed to the doctors office as I heard voices and that's what I heard said."

Soral studied him. "Alright. May I ask you something?"

Grol gave a nod.

"Why are you so protective of Chief Eyelaya? You do not know her well."

Grol thought about it. "She reminds me of me a little. Frankly the EMH stated his opinion that she needs help and Vali agreed. I don't."

Soral gave a nod. "Fortunately neither do I. She needs people she can trust."

Grol gave a nod happy the XO was on his side.

"Very well. Vali should be here soon. I will speak to her about the EMH and her evaluation. In the mean time I want you keep you ears to the ground with respect to the EMH."

Grol stoo. "Yes sir."

"Good. When Vali arrives bring her in."

Grol headed out to the little reception area that Ops had created for him. It was really a little square of space with a small desk and a few waiting chairs. This way of he XO had back to back appointments they could wait there.

T’Lanna arrived at Soral’s Office, having been to speak to Emerick she was happy with her evaluation of the EMH and she just hoped Soral would be as well. She smiled warmly as she approached Grol. “Hello Grol, I take it Commander Soral is in?”

"Yes ma'am. He's expecting you." He motioned for her to go inside.

T’Lanna nodded her thanks to Grol, and headed inside the office and looking to Soral. “My evaluation Commander ...” She handed Soral a PADD. “I’m recommending that Emerick’s personal log be deleted, and that he makes a personal apology to Eyelaya for any distress caused by it. It’s my opinion that Emerick be allowed to continue to function as EMH. From what I’ve seen there’s nothing wrong with the EMH program, at least nothing that time and personal experience won’t fix.”

"Have you evaluated his skills as a counselor?" Soral asked taking the PaDD and motioning for her to sit.

T’Lanna took a seat. “I had Emerick evaluate me and his assessment was exact and precise. He also explained to me that he feels that Eyelaya needs some help. His concern lies in that she prefers the company of machines to actual living beings and Inshare his concerns in that matter. I know it’ll take time but Eyelaya does need real friends, not artificial ones.”

"Indeed but he used different words in his log." Soral brought up the log. "Borderline Personality Disorder. Is that our evaluation too or does she just warrant mentorship and social graces?" He paused. "Further more that apology you told me about is he apologizing because he feels he should and he feels he did something hurtful to someone else or is this an empty apology just as a placation device for the Chief and as a way to tick of a box?"

T’Lanna took a deep breath, “Regards Eyelaya I don’t agree that she has a Borderline Personality, I do agree that she requires some help which would have to be on her terms. As for Emerick’s apology he’s learning that human emotions are a fragile thing, as such I’m recommending that he simply work in his skill set as EMH until such time as he has a grasp of the scale of emotions.”

“Indeed. I would, in light of everything, suggest that the EMH not do any counseling. I want you to talk to Doctor Rose about replacing you when you are on leave. Further more the EMH should get a counselling subroutine overhaul and i want him to score an 85 at least on the counseling exam before i will allow him to counsel the crew.”

He paused “It will be your job to ensure that it’s done.”

T’Lanna nodded. “Yes Sir. I have one other concern, Chief Eyelaya has stated to me that she wants it put on record that she wants no medical treatment performed by Emerick. That I can understand, but my concern is that if anything should happen to the medical staff the EMH would be the only doctor available. A refusal to be treated could cost Eyelaya her life.”

"I see. Perhaps over time she will change her mind. I will be taking responsibility of ensuring she is adapting well." He looked at the counselor. "Do you have any other concerns with respect to Chief Eyelaya?"

“Not presently” T’Lanna shook her head. “She’s accepted me as a friend so it gives me a chance to be to know her better.”

"Indeed just remember that if your friendship is offered with an ulterior motive it may not work out to plan." He paused. "Anything on Grol?"

“I don’t have an ulterior motive” T’Lanna offered a smile. As for Grol ... Not that much as yet, he’s progressing slowly but I don’t want to rush him.”

"Indeed. I shall begin mentoring them both. I have spoken with the captain regarding it." He made a few more notes. "As you've heard we will, shortly, be having a meeting with the other science ship in the area. I will require both your help and that of Doctor Rose."

T’Lanna smiled. “I’d be more than happy to be there. It’ll give me a chance to observe them.”

"Excellent. I will try an initiate a medical exchange in addition to the scientific one." He made another note. "So are there any other crew concerns you have at this point?"

“Only one and he’s sitting right in-front of me” She offered Soral a knowing gaze. “I’ve no doubt you’ll talk to me when you’re ready.”

He raised an eyebrow but said nothing. "Well if there is nothing else then."

“Nothing more Sir” T’Lanna nodded and stood giving Soral a smile before heading on her way.
