Soral had stopped off and picked up the food he requred and ensured it would be delivered tonight to his quarters. Amongst his wonderings he'd stopped at a shop with a little display that had caught his eye.

Entering the shop he was greeted by a Ferengi. He resisted the urge to recoil.

"Ahhhh welcome Vulcan. What can this humble merchant offer you?"

Soral raised an eyebrow. "I would like the item you have displayed in the window. Do you have it in a Green stone?"

"I have many colours." The Ferengi climbed down from his chair and went into the back room. He came out with several models and it was a rainbow one that caught Soral's eye.

"I wish to have that one."

"Of course." The Ferengi picked it up and began to wrap it. "It is a rare item and as such my only one. Twenty slips of latinum."

Soral resisted the urge to pull out a phaser. "Ten."

The Ferengi eyed him with distaste. "For such beauty? Eighteen."

"Twelve."

"Now you insult me! "Sixteen."

"Twelve."

"Fine! But only because you are Starfleet I will give it to you for Fifteen."

"Eleven."

"Fine, Fine, Twelve."

He paid for his purchase and headed to the door. "I would have paid fifteen." He said by way of parting shot and headed out. Soon his legs took him to his goal, the Sickbay on the station. "Doctor Selin?" He called out seeing the sickbay full.

Selin came out of a back area, holding a supply of blankets. "Commander Soral." She nodded professionally. "What can I do for you sir?" She asked, all business but with a certain warmness to her features that only somebody who knew her would recognize.

"May I speak with you in private for a moment?"

"Of course Commander." Selin led him to her office, and shut the door behind them. She raised a questioning brow.

"We are leaving tomorrow. I did not want to leave without saying something." He started.

"Oh." Selin had known they were leaving, and soon. But the news was still a tad shocking. "I wish you safe travels."

He gave a nod. "Thank you." He reached into his bag and handed her a small box. "I saw this and thought of you." Inside he knew that there would be a chain, silver in colour, and a snowflake formed of rainbow crystals.

"You did not need to get me anything." She took the box though, unwilling to open it right there. She was already feeling emotional with the knowledge that Soral was leaving, even though it had been expected. She did not want to have an emotional display here, in her office and on duty.

"It is something to remind you that your uniqueness is what makes you special. And to say that any man, Vulcan or otherwise would be a fool if they did not see you for the remarkable person you are."

"Damnit Soral." Selin placed the box on her desk, then pulled him into a kiss. "I do not like to cry. You must desist."

He kissed her back and held onto her leaning his forehead against hers. "I do not want to make you cry. I just wish you to know that you have changed so much in me. You have given challenge to certain things I was afraid to and I wish you to know that you will always hold a special place within me."

"As you do within me. If circumstances were different.." She cut that thought off quickly though. It was illogical, impractical, and would only lead to more sadness. "I am very thankful for the time we were able to spend together, I will treasure the memories."

"If circumstances were different I would not hesitate." He kissed her again not worried about the staff seeing. He then gently cupped her face. "Perhaps not goodbye but parting for a little while."

"Perhaps." She reluctantly let him go.

He stepped back. "Take care." He was finding it hard to go.

"Live long and prosper." Selin saluted him, falling back on her Vulcan training so she didn't stand crying in her office like a heartbroken maiden. She would not fall to the stereotype.

"Peace and long life." He sent a final telepathic caress to her and left. Outside her office he noted a young nurse with her jaw open. She'd witnessed the very un-Vulcan goodbye but he didn't care. Right now he was fighting his own emotions calling on every bit of control that he could.

Selin took a seat at her desk, needing a few minutes to regain her composure. She would be angry at Soral for causing a scene at her workplace, but she couldn't find it in herself to care. She was just glad she'd had a chance, even briefly, to say goodbye.

Soral knew that he had only a few things to do. He had to pick up a few more items and some holo programs and then he'd be back on ship, leaving the station a last time before their morning departure.
