Operation: Neu Reich
Location: USS Standing Bear | Counselor's Office
Timeline: 2394 MD 02
ON:
Haru wheeled himself to the office of the counselor. He rang the chime and waited to be let in.
For a change T’Lanna answered the door instead of calling whoever it was to visit, she smiled as she saw Haru waiting outside. “Hello Haru, please come in” She stepped aside to allow him to enter.
Haru smiled and wheeled in past her. His legs were a bit stronger but still not 100%. "Hello T'Lanna. Came to check on you."
T’Lanna gave Haru a curious look, “Came to Counsel the Counsellor huh?” She walked across to a seat and sat down. “Good luck, I think my father would be proud I’ve finally found my non-emotional side. I’m learning how to smile without actually feeling the emotion.”
"Ahhh well you got to be careful about that. You should always mean your smiles." He wheeled over to her. "So how are you doing, I have not seen you since you got back."
“To be honest ... I’m not sure. All I could think about while I was aboard that ship was getting home to Jayce and Raith. I had visions of my son growing up without me.” She frowned, the negative emotions were proving hard for her keep buried. “Without Jayce and Raith I’d be totally lost.”
"That's understandable. The people that we love give us strength." He reached out and took her hand. "I'm glad you were not hurt."
T’Lanna offered a more genuine brief smile. “Thank you. I want to get rid of this...” she ran her fingers over her inhibitor, “But I’m not ready, my emotions are a mess Haru. I didn’t just hurt you, Alex, and others, I also somehow triggered off early development of my son’s abilities! Heavens knows what that’ll mean for him as he grows up! I’m afraid of what I could do Haru.”
"T'Lanna it's alright. You didn't hurt us. Look." He pointed to his legs. Concentrating he moved them both slightly. "See. Whatever you did helped me and I know it helped Alex. Your son will grow as he is and he will still be your son and still be a special and loved child."
T’Lanna looked at Haru eyes wide as he moved his legs, “I ... I did that!?” She tried to keep back the urge to cry but her eyes misted up nonetheless. “That ... is amazing!”
"It is. I don't want to say anything to Mac until I can walk in the door but sometimes even from something negative the most beautiful gifts arise. From your grief yes you put people to sleep but look at the gift I got. Alex is also closer to melding with Soral."
T’Lanna looked positively shocked by all the good that had come from something so negative. “I ... I don’t know what to think let alone say!” She gave Haru a teary-eyed look.
"Well just know things are not as bad as they seem and ignore my significant other he's wrestling with his own demons." he sighed. "I came to apologize I bet he was not a fun ship mate while there."
“Actually Mac was the complete opposite, he looked out for me. Though he was quick enough to point out that it was purely due to his position to protect me.” She shrugged her shoulders. “I’m hoping he’ll forgive me.”
Haru sighed. "He will he's...been going through a rough bit. I mean I haven't helped but then there are the night terrors...." He shook his head. "He's not been himself as of late."
"Night terrors?" T'Lanna looked at Haru curiously. "Yours or Mac's?"
"Mac." Haru sat back. "When he wakes up he can't calm himself for hours after." He sighed. "It's like … I don't know. He won't talk to me about them."
T'Lanna nodded. "I need to talk to him but I don't think he'll come anywhere near me. I've done enough damage in his eyes, if I force it I'll just make things worse between us."
"I know, don't worry I'll just sic Hamura on him. He tells Hamura everything." Haru rolled his eyes.
T’Lanna grinned failing to keep herself from finding the comment humorous. “Thank you Haru, I don’t know what I’d do without you, and all my friends onboard.”
"You will have to face Mac at some point and he you. We could always stand you two in a turbo lift," He said with a smile.
“Seriously!” T’Lanna shook her head. “No chance! I’ve had enough of being enclosed in small places.”
Haru smiled. "Well then we'll figure something out to get you two talking again."
T’Lanna nodded. “Thank you Haru. I do appreciate you coming to check on me.”
He gave a nod. "I know how hard it is to feel like everyone is mad at you but I just wanted to make sure you know that it's only a feeling not a fact." He sighed. "Anyway...are you going tonight?"
“Going where?” T’Lanna looked at Haru curiously. Had she missed something important?
"A goodbye drink for Grol, he'll be taking Eyelaya's body back home, to Vulcan, the only place she felt was home."
“I didn’t know, Yes I’ll be there. I can’t have Grol leave and not say goodbye.”
"Mac is going too I didn't want to at first since we did not see eye to eye as of late but I will go to support Mac, they were good friends. I guess I'll see you there then."
T’Lanna nodded. “I’ll see you tonight.”
