Location: Sickbay
Timeline: After Ryan returns to the ship

{ON}

Getting back to work after spending time with Raith and having to wait for Ryan’s return to the ship, T’Lanna had made her way to Sickbay to see if Doctor Rose had learned what she wanted to know about the deceased female Borg they’d brought onboard. She was pretty stressed from the whole experience, she’d found enjoyment and release with Raith but it wasn’t surprising she was feeling off in herself.

Walking into Sickbay she paused to look around, seeing Ryan she walked over to him. “Doctor” She gave a slight nod of the head but not her usual cheery smile. “Have you had a chance to run a dna comparison between myself and the Borg female we brought back?”

"The results are coming in right now actually." Ryan offered a small smile. "Would you like something to eat or drink? We can read over the results in my office if you'd like."

“A drink would be great thanks” T’Lanna nodded and offered a brief smile. “I’ll pass on food, my stomach isn’t very settled at the moment.”

"Understandable." Ryan headed to his office. He grabbed himself an iced tea then looked over to T'Lanna. "What can I get for you?"

T’Lanna looked towards Ryan. “Just an iced water would be great, thank you”

Ryan ordered just that, then headed to his couch. It seemed too personal a piece of information to convey across a desk. "So, we can't say with 100% certainty, as Borg manipulate DNA to better work with implants, but I can say as certainly as we are able, that she was your mother." Ryan put it as simply as he could.

Ryan then followed T'Lanna, not quite sure where she was going. It became clear as she headed towards the morgue though. Ryan nodded to the nurse. If T'Lanna needed to see the body to help the grieving process, then he would let her.

T’Lanna gave Ryan a somewhat teary eyed look before walking over to the female Borg and gently placing a hand on her augmented body. “I don’t understand this...why now? After all the years...” she wiped away a few tears. “Strange thing is I took comfort in the fact that she was still out there, a Borg but alive. I was hoping that maybe one day...” she paused. “I was hoping to maybe get my mum back! But not like this!!”

She stepped away from the body and slowly walked back into Sickbay. “Would you do something for me please? Sam did already do a quick medical check on all of us in the shuttle but would you check everything is okay with me and the baby?”

"Yeah, of course." Ryan was quick to grab a medical tricorder.

“We were hit by some kind of lightning which knocked us all out. I haven’t had any problems besides a headache but having who knows how many volts shot through the shuttle when you have implants in your body, who knows! I just want to be sure it didn’t do any harm.”

"I understand completely." Ryan began scanning. It didn't take long before he looked up from the tricorder screen. "Everything looks good. He or she has a strong little heart beat too."

T’Lanna breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank you. I could still sense him or her inside me, I guess I just needed the reassurance.” She sat up and hopped down off the biobed straightening her clothes as she did so. “Thank you for everything Ryan.” She headed for the door before pausing for a moment and looking back at Ryan. “I’ll call my father and let him know about mum. We’ll make arrangements to get her home.” With that she headed on her way.
