T’Lanna heard the door open, she didn’t wait to see who left until she sensed she wasn’t alone. “I guess it’s time for a pep talk Commander” She turned to look at Victrix. “I thought I was doing the right thing bringing you and Soral here to talk. Looks like I was wrong. I’ve been a Psychologist too long, my Counselling skills are rusty.”

"Not so different from another, unless you mean you've spent more time researching and lecturing than sitting down providing counselling sessions for people" replied Victrix. "I did not think you did a bad job. Your skills weren't rusty, just not as applicable to Soral. He's...well, he's Soral."

“He’s a Vulcan, a true Vulcan in all emotional respects.” T’Lanna offered a smile. “I always fought against my father’s attempts to have me purge my emotions, especially after being with the Borg collective. I wanted to feel and experience everything!”

Victrix nodded "I do not blame you for wanting that" she replied. "Commander Soral is different. He will almost always take the road away from emotions even when there's clearly something bothering him. My mother always said it was best to leave Vulcans to meditate and simmer. Eventually the problem will come to a boil."

T’Lanna nodded. “That’s wise advice, my father was always best left alone to sort a problem. I always thought he never missed my mother until one night after I returned from the Borg. I was woken by a strong sense of emotion and I found my father sitting outside crying. I daren’t let him know I was there so I just went back to my room and pretended I never saw him."

"I'm not sure Soral will be shedding any tears, but I am fairly certain he will find somewhere to meditate and eventually come to his senses in his own time table, not either of ours."

T’Lanna nodded. “Indeed. Meditation does have a way of clearing the mind, it opens a door that helps to make sense of things that are troubling you. I don’t have any intention to rush either you or Soral into anything, I was just ... trying to clear the air.”

"The air was cleared. You were effective in doing so, Lieutenant. Believe me, it was helpful. The problem is you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. Soral, is a stubborn Vulcan horse. He needs to choose to drink."

T’Lanna grinned at the picture that conjured up in her head. “That’s true. Like you said he’ll come around in his own good time.”

"It's only logical" countered Victrix with a smirk.

“Now you’re sounding more logical than me!!” T’Lanna laughed. It felt good to laugh after feeling like she’d thrown her friends into a large pot and let them stew. “I am going to miss you when you’ve gone! Please tell me you’ll visit from time to time?”

Victrix smiled. "In the words of Earth singer Cher, 'This is far from over. You haven't seen the last of me' and I will keep in contact with you even after I leave."

T’Lanna nodded. “I will look forward to it!”

"Now that Soral and I have been spring free from your therapy trap, I'm going to get back to work."

T’Lanna nodded. “Me too, more reports to catch up on and appointments to schedule.”

Victrix nodded and parted ways with the lieutenant.
