Medical Matters

Mission:
Operation: Jabberwocky
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: MD12
Following her meeting with Commander Soral, Siana decided that now was as good a time as any to check in with medical. It was one of the few areas of the ship she had not yet visited in person, not out of any wish to avoid it as most people seemed to, but she had so far only gone where she had needed to go. The rest of the time she had been studying tech manuals. So as she entered the domain of Doctor Rose and her staff, she found herself studying every detail of the room as she walked forward. Analysing the layout and the equipment in the way the doctor himself might look at a patient.
She was in a little world of her own when she realised someone was speaking to her. "Oh! Sorry," she apologised with a small smile, "I was a million light years away. I'm Petty Officer Siana Deeson. I just joined the crew recently and I haven't gotten round to my medical clearance. I mean, I know there is an EMH programme but it wasn't exactly an emergency... are you Doctor Rose?"
"It's quite alright." Ryan smiled. "Yes, I'm Doctor Rose. It's a pleasure to meet you Petty Office Deeson. But please, Ryan is fine. Welcome aboard. You're in operations correct?" Ryan had almost finished going over the new crews files, and was pretty sure he wasn't mixing her up with anybody. The trill features were rather distinctive.
She seemed surprised, “yes Sir. And thank you. Nice to meet you too.”
Ryan let out a soft chuckle. "There's only about 100 crew, any new crew is noteworthy. Now, why don't we get your physical taken care of, and maybe by the end I can get you to call me Ryan, or at least Doctor. I hear sir and I start looking around for Commander Soral."
Siana grinned as she sat on the edge of the nearest biobed, “old habit... Doctor. I met the Commander just before I came here. And Commander Stillwater before your mission started. But the ship has obviously been very quiet the last few days.”
Ryan barely kept from shaking his head. Well, he could live with doctor. "I bet, with so many on shoreleave. Now that we are back from our side mission though, I'm sure we'll be getting new orders soon. Did you get to enjoy the base at all?" He asked, while taking the needed scans.
“A little, I got here a few days early but I get bored just shopping so I asked to come aboard early. I’d rather be crawling through the bowls of the ship than trying on clothes,” she confided with a grin. “There were a few nice restaurants though but I could eat anything. Apart from Strawberries. They give me a horrible rash...”
"Good to know about the strawberries." Ryan smiled. "There was one restaurant that had the best cake I've ever had." He commented, giving her the name of the restaurant. He checked over the readings from his scans so far.
“Thanks! I love finding good places to eat. Sometimes just watch people go by and wondering what are they thinking? What’s their story. Of course they might be looking at me, wondering why I’m wondering what they are thinking and it just gets messy. I’ll be sure to give that place a try.”
Ryan had the urge to ask her out to the restaurant, but refrained. He was on duty and in the middle of a physical. She did have an amazing smile and a personality that drew you in though. Perhaps if you gathered up the courage later.. "Well, everything looks good." Ryan reported, making some notes on her file.
“Perfect, thank you so much. And any more food recommendations just send them my way,” she enthused, clearly pleases she could continue with her duties.
"I'll do that." Ryan smiled. "Well it was a pleasure to meet you. You're all set."
Hoping down from the biobed, Siana offered him a greatful smile, "thanks! Not to be rude but I'll try not to be a regular visitor."
Ryan smiled, understanding. "I'm always the pariah around this place." He teased.
