T’Lanna had left Soral’s Office feeling somewhat exasperated at not getting anywhere with her questions, remembering what he’d said about Gypsy Sage she wondered just how well Sage knew Soral and if she’d be able to help her. Heading back to her office she requested a channel to Sage hoping the other woman would be available and able to offer a helpful view.

Gypsy was enjoying he day off when the call came in. She stopped her tidying and head to her little desk. Opening the call section she watched as the insignia shifted and twisted into the image of a young Vulcan woman. She smiled. "Hello!" She was sure she hadn't met the woman before.

T’Lanna offered a polite smile. “Miss Sage, please forgive my interrupting your day. My name is T’Lanna Vali I’m ships Psychologist and Counsellor for the USS Standing Bear. I was hoping you could help me to help a friend ... his name is Soral.”

She smiled. "Ahhh stubborn Vulcan, extremely good looking but infuriating?" She grinned. "He was the second officer on my previous ship and a friend...I take it you've come up against the logic wall?"

“Something to that effect” T’Lanna nodded. “I consider Soral to be a friend and mentor, he’s been helping me to learn what it is to be Vulcan.” She offered a smile. “He’s recently returned from his honeymoon and he’s ... different, and not in a good way.”

"Ah...how different? More stubborn or has he gone uber Vulcan?"

T’Lanna grinned she liked Gypsy already. “Definitely uber Vulcan.”

"Excellent that narrows it down." She smiled. "Now is he just amplifying the logic of things or is wearing Vulcan robes in his off time or is he being all professional with titles?"

"Well he called me Counsellor instead of T'Lanna, so definitely the titles. He's also more ... Staunch that he was before he left." She gave Gypsy an uncertain look.

Gypsy sighed. "Oh this won't be fun." She scrubbed her hand down her face genuinely worried about her friend. "He has bouts like this, not often but...they usually indicate mental and physical anguish." She paused. "Since you're the counselor pull up a record of holodeck time. Try to see if he's accessed the holodeck on a daily basis."

T'Lanna nodded and referred to a PADD she had nearby, it didn't take long to check the records using her medical access codes. "According to this yes he has. It's program number 7135711 if that means anything to you?" T'Lanna was starting to worry more and more about her friend now.

She sighed. "Yup. Soral has whimsical names for all his programs. His home is 'Forged and Fabulous' and then he has 'Surak's soul' for the gardens on Vulcan. That particular program is an Re-integration one. It's a learning style program where he is tested on logic, history, physics, pretty much everything a Vulcan would be if he's gone through Trauma. He only uses that when he has...cognitive slips. Rare but it does happen." She sighed. "Has he shared anything with you about his childhood condition?"

T'Lanna shook her head. "What kind of condition did he have? Is it something that should still be bothering him now?" She gave Gypsy a concerned look wondering why Soral was trying to hide all this from her, not that he had to tell her.

"Well first being part Betazoid I can sense your feelings. It took me forever to hunt it all down. I never learned the full of it but if he goes through metal or physical trauma sometimes it acts up, he has issues ... almost slips in logic and some motor issues ... again never really figured out the full of it but I know that usually that's his go to and he'll do that program daily until he is able to get back to himself." She paused. "I understand that Mackenzie is on ship with him. If you can maybe talk to him. He probably the only one that has the full story of it." She paused. " I would say give him a week or so...perhaps it will iron itself out. If not then I suggest a head on confrontation." Again she paused, "He is stubborn."

T”Lanna nodded. “I know! He’s hiding behind his mask of logic very well and his wife is protecting him, not that I’d expect her to do otherwise. I have a feeling there’s something going on concerning them but I don’t want to force myself on them when they’ve expressed a need to be left alone.”

"Ahhh that's the other thing. Bonding is very... personal. If there is something with respect to that only if invited can someone discuss it...but..." She grinned. "I can tell you, if you want, how I found out about the program...might inspire you."

“Please do” T’Lanna smiled warmly as she looked at Gypsy, she hoped to be as knowledgable and wise as her about all things Vulcan one day. “I’m learning about bonding myself so it would all be helpful information to know.”

She laughed. "So...I found out about the program by getting there early. Soral tends to have his program running already timer. It's more efficient. So I created a holo wall. I kind of observed and then waited until he was gone. I then tried to create questions that would not give away the fact that I was there but asked direct questions he couldn't avoid. He had not choice but to answer."

T’Lanna grinned a wry grin. “Now that is very clever but I wouldn’t know what to ask, he’d know my usual line of questioning. I think perhaps talking to Max might be a good place to follow on after this.”

"Ohhh that man is a clam. He's more tight lipped then an Aldebran Shell Mouth! But he does care about Soral a lot. You'll be able to gage how serious by his level of concern."

“I’ll remember that” T’Lanna nodded. “besides if push comes to shove I can make Soral come to me, even if I have to use a little deception to do it.” She smiled a wry smile.

"Sounds good." She smiled. "Keep your senses up...Capellans are easy to read."

“Oh I will” T’Lanna nodded. “Max and I have spoken before. Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it.”

"Anytime! Soral I a friend. Besides he has me on another mission too. His friend Haru is stationed here."

"Oh? Is this other mission related at all?" T''Lanna was curious.

"Probably not. He worries about his friends but doesn't seem to let us worry about him." She smiled.

“That’s Soral” T’Lanna smiled and nodded. “He’s a good man, one I care very much for in a purely friendship sense.”

She smiled. "He is a good man. But I hope his wife is strong enough to deal with the insecurities he tries to hide!"

“Oh she is!” T’Lanna nodded. “Alex is a strong willed woman, she and Soral adore one another. If anyone can help him she can.”

Gypsy smiled. "Listen I know it can be disconcerting but don't give into him. He just...needs some time. After what happened at the wedding I'm sure he needs time."

“Something happened at the wedding?” T’Lanna looked surprised, she hadn’t heard anything. “Soral did say there’d been something but he didn’t go into details, I didn’t want to pry.”

"Yeah, that sounds like him. " she paused. "Technically he's not my patient...."

“No, he’s mine” T’Lanna offered a smile. “I will help him, I just have to find my way around those Vulcan defences of his. I’ll get there, one way or another.”

She grinned. "I had an idea. You could get really sneaky."

“Sneaky ... me?” T’Lanna grinned. “I’d never do such a thing ...” she gave Gypsy a wry smile, “what’s your idea?”

"Update your files. Ask him about his siblings. Just run through the roster of it all. I guarantee you will find it enlightening. Ask him about his health too." She winked.

“I’ll do that” T’Lanna nodded. “Thank you so much for all your help.”

She smiled. "Anytime."
