Any chance to see you

Mission:
Operation: My Unfair Lady
Location: Sickbay
{ON}
Walking into Sickbay for her latest scheduled check up since her exposure to the Trellium D, T’Lanna smiled as she saw Jarin on duty. Any excuse to see him during working hours was good enough for her.
“Good morning” She made her way over to him making sure it was Jarin she got to see. “I’m here for my scheduled check-up.”
Jarin had been putting up some hypo-spray cartridges when he heard T'Lanna's voice coming from behind him. He turned and smiled a bright smile, his blue eyes sparkling in the sickbay light. "Everything okay" he asked raising a brow.
T’Lanna nodded. “Everything’s fine, any chance to see my favourite Doctor is fine by me!” She grinned a wry grin. “Though I do need to discuss one or two things.”
Jarin smiled back at his girlfriend "what's up?" he asked and started over toward the bio-bed's.
T’Lanna smiled as she followed Jarin. “Probably nothing really. It’s just...since my recovery, after exposure to the Trellium D, I’ve found myself...” She paused wondering how to explain. “More easily losing control of emotions. I mean I’m not a full blood Vulcan, I’ve never purged my emotions, but after losing my father and the way I hurt people...” she paused. “I started taking more control of my emotions, learning to use my Vulcan half the way I always should have. I just find myself getting annoyed, or upset more easily than I used to. Hell maybe I just need to see a Counsellor!”
"It probably wouldn't hurt" he turned and smiled at her. He couldn't help but smile when he saw T'Lanna "but we will get you checked out babe" he said softly as they reached the bio beds.
T’Lanna nodded as she hopped up onto the closest biobed. “This feels strange given that last time I was here I was having some of my organs replaced.” She offered a smile. “Before you ask I’ve had no problems, no aches, no pains, and no sign of rejection.”
"That's a relief" Jarin looked up at her and gave a wink. The doctor grabbed a tricorder from an interment tray and flipped it open "how's my little buddy?" he asked taking the probe from the tip of the tricorder.
“Ohh Jayce is fine! I swear his appetite goes up in leaps and bounds.” T’Lanna grinned. “I still hate having to leave him at the nursery, but I trust the nursery staff to take care of him.”
"Normal for a growing boy to be hungry": Jarin smiled at her "I have to admit" he paused and looked away hoping she was okay with it "I've been checking on him during the day if I'm not busy."
“You have?” T’Lanna smiled as she looked at Jarin. “That’s so lovely! At least I know that if I’m delayed he’s been checked on by one of us.”
"I've grown pretty fond of the little fella" Jarin said as he started scanning T'Lanna.
“We’ve grown pretty fond of you too” T’Lanna grinned as she looked at Jarin. “I think you’d make a wonderful father Jarin.”
Jarin stared down at the tricorder in his hand. He wasn't sure what to say at the moment, he wasn't sure he was ready to be a father, but he wasn't sure he wasn't ready. He knew he cared for the little fella like he was his own and maybe he was just over thinking what she just said. He knew he had to say something "scans are fine" was all that came out.
T’Lanna gave Jarin a worried look, not that she let him see it. Though the sudden sinking feeling in her stomach was hard to ignore. “Ohh...that’s good.” She offered a brief smile feeling awkward. Maybe she’d written too much into their blooming relationship.
"I'm" Jarin paused and took a deep breath "I love the kid like he's my own" he smiled at the women sitting in front of him. He wanted to reach out and kiss her or at least hug her but he was on duty and all.
T’Lanna nodded and smiled. “Then let’s see where this relationship of ours goes. Maybe you’ll find you like being a father figure.” She moved to get off the biobed, before pausing to mention what was on her mind. “You said my scans were clear, but would that show anything neurological?”
"I only ran a basic neurological scan" he gave her a look of concern.
T’Lanna paused. “It’s just...I’ve been having a few mood swings of late. That, and I’ve noticed tremors in my hands from time to time. It’s not all the time, just every now and again. Hell maybe I’m just worrying about nothing!”
"Well we can get this nothing checked out while you are here or see doctor Hiiragi first thing" Jarin wanted to make sure he gave her options on who was treating her and finding if there was a cause for the symptoms. "Up to you babe" he let the babe word slip and a big smile grew on his face, it was the first time he said it out loud.
T’Lanna grinned at that. “I don’t have any complaints with you checking me out!” She grinned a more wry grin. “Like I said it might be nothing, but given my exposure to the Trellium D, and the affects it can have on Vulcans...”
"Oh I agree" Jarin gave her a nod and a soft smile it was time to get serious. Jarin was punching commands into the tricorder and getting ready to run a neurological scan on T'Lanna, if there were significant concerns he would run further scans or perhaps refer her to see the Chief Medical Officer.
T’Lanna offered a thankful smile as she got comfy on the biobed again. She just hoped nothing serious showed up. “Jarin, if there should be anything...” she didn’t say any more, the thought was too terrifying to contemplate.
"You are going to be okay" Jarin offered a soft smile as he started his second round of scans. These would take longer and focus on the neurological system of the body. He looked her in the eyes as he waved the probe around her head, neck, chest and pelvis to get an accurate scan "how's your day been?" he asked trying to make conversation while the tricorder complied data and what not.
“Okay so far, given that I have multiple duties these days. Foreign area officer, Counsellor, and First Officer!” She grinned. “Talk about being split into multiple areas! It’s a learning curve that’s for sure.”
"Busy lady" Jarin smiled paying close attention to the readings on his tricorder. "I am seeing residual signs of your exposure" he looked up at T'Lanna. "Honestly I think you are just tired babe" he whispered "you've got a lot on your shoulders are you sure this is even a good time for this" he wasn't trying to make it about him or be whiney he just didn't want to be a problem for her or that kiddo.
“Time for us?” T’Lanna looked at Jarin in surprise. “Of course it is! What else do I have? Since Raith it’s just been Jayce and I, apart from work. I’ve had no one else to look forward to coming home to. Just lying in bed staring at the ceiling, waking up alone.” She sighed. “You’ve given me something to look forward to, to look forward to being with you. Unless you don’t want to be with me?”
"No" Jarin shook his head "that isn't what I was saying" he paused and looked up with a smile on his face. "What I'm trying to say is I don't want to be a problem" he closed the tricorder "I know how busy you are."
T’Lanna’s expression showed huge relief. “How could you be a problem!?” She smiled. “After a long day you and Jayce are the only stress relief I get. I need you Jarin, but I don’t want you to feel you have to be there for me. Only if you want to be.”
"I want to be" Jarin smiled and rubbed her shoulder a little "I'll give you a massage tonight after the kiddo is asleep."
T’Lanna smiled a very relieved smile. “I’d like that very much. I think it’s time I started taking more time for me, at present I’m burning the candle at both ends.”
"Sometimes you have to" Jarin agreed.
“Lately I’ve needed to, I have to keep on top of everything.” She offered a wry smile. “So do I get the all clear?”
He had almost forgotten he was doing an exam on his girlfriend "oh yeah" he paused and looked down at the tricorder and then back up into T'Lanna's eyes "yes all clear."
T’Lanna breathed a big sigh of relief. “That’s what I needed to hear.” She looked around checking no one would see her before giving Jarin a quick kiss. “There’s more where that came from later.”
"See you later then" Jarin smiled at T'Lanna and gave her a wink.
“See you then” T’Lanna smiled and headed on her way, feeling somewhat more relieved.
Jarin watched his beautiful girlfriend walk out of sickbay and just kind of stood there with a smile on his face still holding onto the tricorder.
