Previously on I Do...

Mackenzie had followed her out. He had Liviana in hand. "Alright my two sisters of mayhem. Let's get you seated. We'll talk about your timing later."

He hurried them to the beach where chairs were set out.

T’Mari took a seat next to Liviana, if it wasn’t for hurting Soral she would have left and let him have his happy day without further worry. She just didn’t want to hurt him further by disappearing before his wedding.

Kaito had come out. He looked down at the two women. "It will be alright. Just enjoy your time here. After the wedding Mac and I will speak to him. He's...just a little stressed." Kaito snorted. "At least you brought him a sister. Can you imagine I that was a long lost child?" He laughed at that preposterous idea.

“Yes just imagine!” T’Mari looked at Liviana then back at Kaito.

And now the continuation....

Soral stood at the head of the rows of guests. He stood next to the officient waiting for his bride. Even though he'd seen her briefly he could not wait to see her again. She had been a vision. All thoughts of the news his sister had brought were pushed back into his mind as far as they would go. He would deal with that can of worms later.

Beside him stood his two closest friends Mac an Haru. Everything felt right. His heart was pounding a happy beat and he looked towards the back so that he could get first glimpse of bride coming down the isle.

“Nervous?”

Her mother’s question interrupted Alex as she turned the pendant over in her hand. With her mother at her side, she waited in the shade of a tree, hidden from view as they waited for the celebrant to open proceedings. As music began to play, the soft lyrical notes drifting lazily through the air, she walked arm in arm with her mother to the start of the ‘aisle’ which was already covered in a thin layer of golden sand along with a trail of fragrant rose petals.

She whispered under her breath as she kissed the back of the pendant and let it fall into place, offering her mother a bright smile. In the absence of her father, Laura would ‘give her away’ and she knew how much this one moment meant to her. How bittersweet it was. They didn’t need words to know her father was very much in both of their thoughts.

Coming into Soral’s view her nerves melted away and her smile was as bright as the sun. As the drew close the stopped, Laura taking her hand and with a few tears in her eyes, giving her daughter’s hand to Soral. A symbolic gesture which had survived through generations.

“Love you,” Laura whispered as she kissed Alex’s cheek before taking her seat.

Soral held her hand just gazing at her. "You are remarkable. As radiant as all the stars in all of creation," he whispered for her to hear.

Before she could speak, the celebrant stepped under the floral arch, clearing his throat. He smiled kindly to the assembled guests and then to the bride and groom. “Welcome everyone,” he announced, his voice managing to carry without seeming overly loud. “I am Brian Dawson and on this beautiful afternoon I am delighted to join you all as officiant as we celebrate a wedding of Soral and Alex....”

Alex squeezed Soral’s hand, smiling up at him as all else faded away.

T’Mari watched proudly as her brother and his bride-to-be stood happily together. She’d never seen Soral so happy before, his Vulcan demeanour was totally different towards Alex and she could tell how much he loved her and how much she loved him. It was certainly a match made in heaven, as the human saying went.

Soral held her hand relishing the bond. "I do." He said even though the question hadn't been asked. His outburst drew laughter from the crowd. He looked at the officient. "My apologies for the interruption."

Dawson laughed perhaps the loudest of all, “good to know you are keen. Well, I guess we know your answer! And do you, Alex -“

“I do,” Alex cut in, never breaking eye contact with Soral. “Completely. Always.”

In the front row Laura was a blubbering mess as someone handed her a tissue. Dawson raises an eyebrow at her wailing, realising they were in fact happy tears as he gathered himself. “Well, all that remains is for me to pronounce you husband and wife! Again. You may now kiss the brid -“ His voice trailed off when he realised that they were very much ready for his proclamation.

T’Mari stood and started a rowdy round of applause for the happy couple. She was exceedingly proud of Soral and very, happy for him.

As they gently broke the kiss Soral held Alex leaning his forehead to hers. "I pledge to you all that I am and all that I will be and all that I have." He kissed her again quickly and then then held ands as they walked though the crowed. There were more people then he thought. His eyes found T'Mari and he looked at Mac.

Meanwhile Soral held onto Alex. "Let us enjoy the party. I wish you to meet my sister and Fang."

Alex managed a nod as her mother almost squeezed the life out of her. “Don’t be too long, my cousin Jamie wants to take your wedding pictures,” Laura reminded them gently.

With a nod Mac disappeared and as if conjure by magic he appeared next to T'Mari. "Alright my mayhem masters." He said taking a hold of T'Mari and Liviana. "Let's have a family meeting."

T’Mari nodded as she looked at Liviana then at Mac. “Okay let’s go.”

Inside the House

Mac, Haru, Fang and Thalia sat in the room. Fang looked at Liviana and T'Mari as they entered. "Soval?" He asked hopefully.

T’Mari shook her head. “Severine felt it wasn’t time yet, she sent Liviana instead.”

"Who is Severine?" Haru asked.

"Ah yes the nun that contacted me. We only managed to speak by written message."

Liviana stood. "She is no nun! She's Soval's sister."

"Who is Soval?" Mac asked.

Liviana ignored him. "Ferengi you have no right."

Fang raised himself. "Twin?!! I have every right. You have no right to keep his children from him."

Mac let out a loud whistle. "What the hell is going on!" It was no question but an order if there was one.

“I believe Fang and Liviana can explain better than I can” T’Mari looked at them each in turn.

By the time of Liviana's tale ended Mac and Haru stared at her. "First off not a word to Soral about Soval and Severine. Not yet. Not until there is genetic proof! Second..."

“... she may need another box of tissues,” Alex grinned as she tugged Soral towards the house now that they were free of her mother. She paused on the doorstep, tugging on his hand before he went inside, “just, lets have these few seconds. Before pictures and the party - just a second for us.”

He smiled. "Indeed.” He held her. "My wife you and I shall have many moments together." He looked into her eyes. "We begin a new chapter in our lives."

“Many many moments,” Alex agreed as she kissed him. “Let’s go meet Fang and your sister and then pictures and party and then later, your infamous distraction techniques?”

"Indeed." They entered the room fell silent as they entered. There was so much tension it was palpable. Soral raised an eyebrow but said nothing.

He motioned to T'Mari. "T'Mari this is Alexandra my wife." He motioned to T'Mari. "My sister T'Mari."

“A pleasure to meet you,” Alex said with a bright smile.

“It is an honour to meet you Alex” T’Mari nodded. “I can see how much you mean to my brother and how much he means to you. I wish you both a long and happy marriage.”

He gave a nod to T'Mari. He turned to the Ferengi and Trill beside him. "This is my...our estate manager on Vulcan. Fang. This is Fang's wife, Thalia."

The woman smiled widely. "It's lovely to meet you Lady Alexandra." Fang bowed and echoed his wife's sentiment.

“I have heard many good things about you both,” Alex smiled warmly, “thank you all for making the trip to Earth. It means a lot to us both.”

Fang grinned. "We are just both happy to see him married to someone he cares for. He is less surly now. Can you imagine a surly Vulcan haunting the halls of the estate?" Fang laughed.

Soral raised an eyebrow. "I am not surly."

“Of course not,” Alex grinned as she kissed his cheek.

Liviana stepped forward. The woman, obviously Romulan, was as tall as Soral, she had long curly black hair and deep blue eyes that reflected Soral's. She had his features but softer more feminine. It was obvious. She congratulated them. "Congratulations to you both."

Soral studied her. He didn't see the resemblance that everyone else seemed to but what logic in the lie?

“Thank you. I don’t think we’ve met...?” Alex replied when Soral stayed silent. She did not miss the obvious resemblance to her husband, yet it seemed impolite to say so.

T’Mari stepped in, “This is Liviana she’s ...” She paused to look at Soral before looking back at Alex. “Soral’s twin sister.”

“Oh...” Alex realised she was at a loss for words. She squeezed Soral’s hand, wishing to comfort him. “Well, it is nice to meet you. Unexpected - but nice. You will have to forgive my husband, he’s not used to being surprised. Soral, we have a couple of minutes, why don’t you stay and speak with your sisters and I’ll check in with our guests?”

A flood of love for his wife overtook him and filtered through the link. Also a pride he could not put into words. By sheer accident Alex had used words that a Vulcan wife would to cover an emotional outburst by her husband and she'd done it flawlessly. These were ever present love and pride in his wife but now they amplified raising her higher on the pedestal that he'd put her on. "There is no proof that she is my twin sister."

Livana's anger flared. "Stubborn idiot! Why would I lie? Is the prospect of being half Romulan so distasteful?"

Soral's anger matched hers. "I have always fought for the Romulan people. Do not presume to know my mind." He took a moment. "This is not the time and this issue will not be spoken about again until we've had time to verify her DNA and mine. You may stay and enjoy the wedding if you wish it but I will not have this day marred." He turned to both T'Mari and Liviana. "My wife is correct about surprises. This one could have waited." He turned. "My wife our guests await us." He held out two fingers for his wife to touch her fingers to his as was Vulcan fashion. Part of him worried about what would Alex think? She married a Vulcan. Now that he could possibly be part Romulan would she choose to leave especially after the recent revelations of Mars and the Synth issue. Would she see her husband as an enemy? He was petrified at loosing her and now angry with both so called sisters for making that a possibility.

“They do,” Alex said softly, trying to calm the mood as she touched her fingertips to his. She felt his sudden doubt, his uncertainty. She wanted to put him in the bubble, instead she did what she could. ~ I love you. ~

~And I you with everything that I am.~ The touch of his wife's mind calmed him. Once they were out the room he stopped and pulled her into his arms just holding her. "I do love you. I am sorry. I will sort all this out I promise. Do not think of it further. Just know that you are my soul and being here today with you means the world to me."

"You have nothing to apologise for," she pointed out, cupping his face. "Do I feel upset at you? Angry with you? You know I'm not. Now... come on, we best not leave my mother unattended for too long."

T’Mari looked at Liviana. “I think I should go. Feel free to stay and enjoy the wedding if you wish but I’ve ruined this day enough for Soral. I have no wish to ruin it any further.”

"Don't even think of it. We're staying. He's stubborn and he has to be faced with the truth. Trust me, I know." She grumbled. "Let's go get a drink and some food." She took T'Mari's arm and pulled her sister along.

T’Mari gave her half sister a look that expressed more gratitude than she could express aloud. “You are as wise as you are brave Liviana.”

"No I'm just as stubborn as he is. The idiot." She sighed. She rolled her eyes. "I like the wife. She is like a wild haired warrior goddess. Figures he'd pick her."

T’Mari nodded. “She is beautiful and if she makes him this happy then I’m happy for them both.”

"At least he can't marry the one he was suppose to. He's married now. Although she contest." Then it dawned on her. "Severine! That sneaky brat. Of course."

“What?” T’Mari looked at Liviana. “What has Severine done?!”

Liviana smiled. "She's more Romulan then she wants to admit. Severine must have been listening in the last time Soral spoke to Lali. He'd told her that he'd signed a contract with this T'Aurora's family. A betrothal contract. Married or not she could request a penalty, his land because he married but ... when was the contract signed?"

"Err ..." T'Mari stopped to think. "It must have been ... Two years ago, that's when I started planning for my wedding so it would have been around the same time."

"Vulcan law," She shook her head. "Whereas other kids her age read fairy tails she reads everything she can about Vulcan, or rather she has us read it to her and the computer. Not that she can't read she. That girls is smart and more advanced then one can imagine. T'Aurora might be successful in her request for reparation but for the fact that he has an heir, well two of them. This will be messy but might just go in his favour."

“I hope so!” T’Mari looked concerned. “I just want Soral to be happy.”

She sighed. "Do you all really think he looks like me?"

T’Mari nodded. “He’s very much like you, it’s hard not to notice the resemblance.”

"Oh goodie."

T’Mari couldn’t help but smile just a little, her Vulcan exterior was starting to give way not that it mattered infront of Liviana, they were sisters after all.
