Having spoken with the doctor earlier T’Lanna had checked the personnel files to see who the young woman was in Sickbay with him. Having discovered she was his wife, and seen the look on her face at Ryan’s interaction with her, she felt like perhaps she should speak to the Doctor about it. Sending a non urgent message to Sickbay she requested his presence in her office when he was available.

It was a couple of hours later that Ryan was free. He tapped his combadge before heading to the Counselor's office though. "Rose to Vali, is now a good time?"

T’Lanna was sitting down with some research when Rose’s voice came over the comms. “Now is perfect Doctor, please come on in when you get here.”

The trip to her office was very short, and Ryan walked in without sounding the chime, as per her request. He paused to look around.

The office was softly decorated, pictures on the walls of relaxing scenes, cushions and throws on the furniture, low mood lighting, and a soft fake fur rug adorned the floor by the sofa. T’Lanna was a creature of comfort and she liked her patients to be comfortable too. “Hello Doctor, make yourself at home.” T’Lanna smiled. “Can I get you anything?”

"I like what you've done to the place." He commented. "Water would be fine, thank you." He commented. His own office was still Starfleet grey. The only thing he'd done is hide a TRX system behind the couch. He took a seat.

“Water it is” T’Lanna smiled warmly and walked over to the replicator. Ordering two glasses of cold water she returned and placed the drinks on the coffee table before sitting down. “The reason I asked you here is... I couldn’t help but notice the look your wife gave you when I was in Sickbay. I wanted to apologise if I caused any offence in any way. I didn’t even know she was your wife until I checked the personnel files.”

Ryan took a sip of the water. "Oh geez. I'm sorry about that." Ryan didn't like having to make excuses for Samantha. "No offense was given, I assure you. I apologize if you were uncomfortable."

“There’s no need” T’Lanna smiled warmly. “In the past my father has been quick enough to tell me that it’s inappropriate for a Vulcan female to act in a ‘flirty’ manner around men. There is a certain decorum to be upheld.” She grinned and shook her head. “Not for me! Maybe I am too emotional for a Vulcan but I am half Betazoid too.”

"What?" Ryan turned a light shade of pink. "You weren't flirty. You didn't do anything inappropriate, really."

“I know I didn’t I was just...” She paused. “I’m sorry, I’m still getting used to being around people, even after all these years of not being Borg it’s still hard to integrate in new places.”

Ryan smiled. "Don't worry about it. It's hard just normally adapting to a new environment." He was happy at the change of subject. "How have you been doing so far? Sleeping alright?"

“I never sleep too well on the first night in a new place.” She shrugged her shoulders. “The last few nights have kind of been hit and miss. Don’t worry I’ll catch up eventually.”

"I know an excellent replicator program for chamomile tea. I find it helps." Ryan offered. "But let me know if things don't settle down."

T’Lanna nodded. “I will, that’s a promise. Besides if I don’t sleep then my nanites don’t get recharge time and that’ll lead to problems with my implants.”

Ryan nodded, glad to see she understood the importance of proper rest, doubly so for herself. "Is there anything else you'd like to discuss?"

T’Lanna shook her head. “Not unless there’s anything you can think of.” She smiled warmly. “I should have asked earlier if there’s anyone onboard you think I need to talk to. Anyone in need of a Counsellor?”

"I thought you were performing in more of an advisory role to the Command Crew, are you taking clients for counseling?"

“If the Commander will allow it. I am a trained Counsellor after all.” She smiled. “I’ll make a point of asking her before I set up any appointments.”

"Of course." Ryan mentally chided himself. Of course there was a need for a counselor to actually perform in a therapist role as needed. "I have two patients who could use some counseling. I'll have their files sent over to you."

T’Lanna nodded. “I’d appreciate that thank you.” She smiled warmly. “Oh and feel free to call me T”Lanna in private it saves using titles all the time.”

"Alright T'Lanna. It's Ryan, just whenever." He'd never been very formal, and never felt the need to go by his rank, or his title. Though the latter he was proud of, and wasn't above pulling out when needed. "If there's nothing else? I have a desk full of paperwork with my name on it." He made a little boyish pouty face. Clearly paperwork was not his favorite.

“Of course! Forgive me.” T’Lanna stood. “Anytime you need a hand you know where to find me, after all we medical professionals should stick together.”

"Thank you. I appreciate that." Ryan stood as well. "My door is always open as well." Ryan offered, before putting his water back on the replicator pad to be recycled. "See you later."

“See you Ryan and thank you.” T’Lanna smiled as she watched him go before turning her attention back to her work.
