Mission: Shore Leave
Location: Starbase
Timeline: 2396

ON:

Oriana stood outside the quarters of the counselor. They were still awaiting their new ship and the new deployment but she couldn't wait to initiate this visit. She stood outside the counselor's door a moment longer and then rang the chime. As she did she reflected on how much she'd come out of her shell these last weeks.

Inside the office T’Lanna was sitting waiting for Oriana’s arrival, looking at the door she smiled. “Come in Oriana.”

Oriana entered. "Thanks for seeing me...I know it's short notice and technically we're all off duty."

“Maybe you’re off duty” T’Lanna smiled. “For me, I’m never truly off duty. I’m always available for those who need to talk. Plus I’m acting First Officer right now too.”

Oriana wasn't sure how comfortable she was with that. "Soral will be back," she said.

T’Lanna nodded. “I certainly hope so! I wasn’t planning on becoming First Officer when I took the position of Foreign Area Officer as well as my Psychology duties.”

She gave a nod. "Sorry that was a bit defensive."

“It’s okay” T’Lanna smiled warmly. “I can’t fault your loyalty to Soral. He... means a lot to me too.”

She gave a nod. She walked in and sat down feeling somewhat uncomfortable in the new surroundings. "I hear that there will be a crew recall soon. I guess we're getting our new orders."

T’Lanna nodded. “I’ve no doubt of that. The Captain will let everyone know when the time comes. How are you doing?”

She paused and then sighed. "I honestly don't know. It's been...a change."

“I think everything has been a change lately, for all of us.” T’Lanna offered a smile. “With the other Soral, What happened with Alex, and not forgetting facing the Borg as well. I’m looking forward to a change of pace.”

"Yeah...but I didn't come to talk to you about me...it's Hamura."

“Ohh?” T’Lanna looked at Oriana curiously. “Is there something wrong?”

"I don't know, they are not themselves...Soral talked with them a long time but since Soral left they have been avoiding everyone but Mac."

“That’s very odd” T’Lanna nodded in agreement. “I think I should speak with them. It’s the best way to get to the bottom of what’s wrong.”

"Tell me... what happened on that ship? I heard Hamura was separated from the group. Do you know anything that could have happened? I tried to ask Mac but he won't talk."

T’Lanna paused. “I don’t know what happened to Hamura, Ilian and I were separated from them. I never saw Hamura again until we returned to the ship.”

Oriana sat back rubbing the bridge of her nose. "Soral and Mac are tight lipped about the whole thing but I have a feeling they know what happened."

“Right” T’Lanna nodded. “Then we’re going to get to the bottom of it.” She went to tap her comm badge before pausing. “I’m wondering whether to call Hamura here, or we go to them.”

"I don't think they'll come. They haven't left their quarters here on the station...since returning from Vulcan."

“Not at all?” T’Lanna was surprised she hadn’t heard about Hamura before now. “In that case let’s go and see Hamura.”

She gave a nod. Standing she headed out waiting for the counselor to join her. "Mac is always with them...it may be hard to get past him."

“There won’t be a problem getting past Mac” T’Lanna gave Oriana a smile. “You’re talking to the First Officer of this ship remember?”

Oriana signed. "I hope so." They entered the turbo life and they were whisked away within minutes arriving on the deck where they ship staff was housed. they had a ways to walk as Hamura seemed to be in a deserted part far from the rest of the crew. Instead of finding Mac there Haru stood the vigil. His gaze shifted to them as they walked down the corridor. Alert as ever he watched them weighing something in his mind.

As they reached the door T’Lanna smiled warmly. “Hello Haru, Oriana and I need to speak with Hamura and I’m not taking no for an answer.”

Haru's brow furrowed. "Um...I'm under orders from Soral not to let anyone in until Hamura is ready to come out."

“Is that so” T’Lanna nodded. “I’m afraid Soral isn’t here, and you are talking to the current First Officer of this ship Haru. Now do I have to make it an order for you to move aside, or do I need to call the Captain?”

"We are technically off duty and while Hamura is here they are listed as of station.."

The door opened and Hamura stepped out. "It's fine Haru. Come in if you must." They turned and headed back in. Haru slipped in first just in case. Soral told him to watch Hamura until the integration was complete and nobody seemed to know how long that would take.

T’Lanna followed Hamura giving them a curious look. “What’s going on with you Hamura? Oriana came to see me because she was worried about you.”

Hamura looked over at Oriana who was blushing. "I am fine." They walked over to the replicator "Drinks?"

“Nothing for me, thank you” T’Lanna smiled warmly. “So just what is going on Hamura?”
