Margaritaville [Part I]

Posted on Tuesday, 23 June 2020 - 6:07pm by Commander Soral & Captain Barret Stillwater & Lieutenant T'Lanna Vali & Lieutenant JG Adrianna Eberhardt

Mission: Operation: Iktomi
Location: USS Standing Bear |Transporter Room
Timeline: 2393 - MD 5

{ON:}

The Risan luxury cruise vessel, the SS Heart of Nuvia was traversing along one of the frequented corridors, heading back to Risa after a brief trip around Castus, infamous for the precious gemstones uncovered there by Andorian mining operations. The luxury cruiser was the perfect place to stage Stillwater's sting operation. He had already set the plan in motion with the assistance of his husband, Talarn who sent out a disguised transmission discussing the presence of a female Ex-Borg aboard the SS Heart of Nuvia, parts intact. The USS Standing Bear had intercepted the Risan luxury cruiser at the port of Castus.

Commander Barret Stillwater citing Starfleet Order 1-202-B willingly and justly commandeered the Risan vessel, he and several members of his crew were going to set up the operation aboard the SS Heart of Nuvia, with only the luxury cruise ship's Captain and crew aware of what was happening, the passengers left completely in the dark so that their reactions and response if the vessel were attacked and boarded, would be completely normal. Stillwater did not want to blow his nor his crew's cover.

Having ordered his crew to dress in civilian attire as though they were heading to Risa for a shore leave, the man too dressed for the role. It would be a performance worthy of Admiralty's praise if he and his crew were able to successfully apprehend one of these marauder vessels and the motley misfits that crewed it. There assembled in Transporter room one was: Lieutenant Commander Soral, Lieutenant Vali, Petty Officer Baciami, and a few of Standing Bear's finest security personnel.

Commander Stillwater walked into the transporter room, clean-shaven with his greying black hair parted nicely. A pastel green undershirt softly popped from his unbuttoned white linen blazer and matching white linen pants. He looked at Soral and the others "Ladies, gentlemen, I believe we are due for a nice time aboard the Risan luxury cruiser currently traveling off our port side."

Soral was still recovering. His morning had been busy and now this. His promise to Alex and Doctor Rose was all but broken. Alex was not happy. Not Happy at all but duty was duty.

Adrianna smiled, "it's been a long time since I was last in luxury." The woman stepped up the plate. This was the part of Starfleet she actually enjoyed, though the woman felt safer with the paperwork. Her upbringing meant that for someone so small, she was certainly a rottweiler if she needed to be - hell the woman boxed and she had one hell of an aim when it came to rifles and daggers.

T’Lanna stood somewhat nervously ready to do the part she had volunteered for. Raith’s words about her decision to do this were still hanging around in her mind, but she didn’t plan to put herself at risk and she knew those going with her wouldn’t let any harm come to her. “Luxury is always good.”

Baciami looked to T'Lanna, making a mental note of nerves. It wasn't surprising, though she wasn't about to mention it. "Reward for good behaviour."

T’Lanna smiled. “I think we could all do with a holiday on Risa. Perhaps I should make it a recommendation in my next report.”

Commander Stillwater grunted. The last thing I need right now is this bunch on a pleasure planet, but this starship is high stress he thought to himself. "You may want to make that a formal recommendation and have it on my desk after we are done here," he said to T'Lanna. "Some R&R may be appropriate after this" he added as he walked over the weapon's locker in the transporter room and started to grab a few phasers. "Keep these and commbadge on you discretely at all times" he directed as he handed out the phasers.

Adrianna quickly took one, she was well versed in hiding weapons. Slipping it under her jacket, and tucked into the back belt of her jeans, it was easily covered by her longish jacket. Along with her Baciami 'gifted' dagger at her ankle, the women felt well-armed, "si, sir."

T’Lanna took a phaser not that she’d use it unless she really had to. She tucked it away inside her clothes along with her comm badge. “Fingers crosses it all goes smoothly, I’m not planning on ending up on someone’s dissecting table.”

Soral had already secured his along with a couple of other supplies. He looked at T'Lanna. "Risa? Would not the Shore leave planet be better...less dangerous?"

T’Lanna gave a thoughtful look, “You're probably right, Risa used to be the holiday destination of choice but I guess it has changed. I’ll just recommend shoreleave. I’ve no doubt that I, for one am going to need it!”

Soral held a small device. "I took the liberty of getting one of these." He handed it to T'Lanna.

T’Lanna took the device and looked at it curiously. “Give me a clue, what is it?”

"Emergency transporter. It can only transport you a few decks away but should you be in peril it will do the trick."

Commander Stillwater cleared his throat "And I had Talarn take a little creative liberty with your commbadge," he said to Lieutenant T'Lanna. "I had a small transponder worked into the circuitry. If all goes to plan, they will literally take the bait, but do not worry. The USS Standing Bear will be in hot pursuit and we will be able to track the ship's whereabouts so long as you and or the commbadge is aboard, and the Standing Bear keeps within long-range sensors distance" he said confidently.

T’Lanna nodded. “So all I have to do is find somewhere to hide and stay out of sight if possible.” She offered a small smile and a nod.

The Commander ascended the small series of steps onto the transporter pad. "This mission is a sting operation. We look the part of background tourists enjoying a Risan luxury cruise. Do not deviate from your role, keep it simple. Mingle only as needed with the civilians aboard, do not take any unnecessary risks. We have reports from Federation sensor arrays that a ship matching the description of one we are looking for has been spotted nearby. Chances are it will be waiting for the cruiser and strike before it reaches Risa" he said.

"You have your orders" added Stillwater. "When it looks like the attack is going to happen be prepared. Keep the tourists and the cruiser's crew safe, do not worry about protecting any gems, jewels, or anything of 'value,' as we will recover it when the Standing Bear takes down the vessel" explained Stillwater. "For this to go right, it has to result in them abducting Lieutenant Vali. Do not prevent that from happening. She is very likely exactly what they are after."

Adrianna simply nodded her understanding. In her head though she reworded their mission to 'put your feet up but when it does happen just keep people safe and let a kidnapping happen.'

Soral listened. He sad nothing further.

The doors parted and Eyelaya ran in. "Sorry! Sorry! I'm here! Here I am!" She leapt behind the transporter controls. "Sir!" Her hands flew over the consoles. She gave a wave to Adrianna. "Ready?"

"Right," Stillwater said. He looked at the operator at the transporter console. "Chief Eyelaya," he said to the young woman with a small smirk tugging at his mouth. He was legitimately pleased with this. This was the Starfleet he liked, the Starfleet he missed...kicking the bad guys' asses. "Energize," he said with a nod.

"Oki doki! Here we go! Hang on to your molecules." She snorted at her own joke.
