Posted on Saturday, 10 April 2021 - 12:55pm by Commander Soral & Captain Barret Stillwater & Lieutenant T'Lanna Vali & Lieutenant Alex Kingsley & Lieutenant JG Adrianna Eberhardt & Petty Officer 1st Class Siana Ilian & Emerick

Mission: Operation: Peace or P'Jem
Location: Deck 8 main engineering
Timeline: 2394

ON:

In his Ready Room, seated behind his desk, Captain Stillwater was going over the latest reports, mostly speculative on where the Andorians were able to acquire the resources needed to build their hidden 'fleet' of starships. He was unaware of the tempest that was brewing on the lower decks of his Merian class starship. Soon, the man would have to deal with a whirlwind of emotion packaged into a petite woman with a broken past, and a plethora of abilities.

Leaving her quarters T’Lanna was more or less on autopilot and in overdrive, her emotions were alive with everything she normally kept under tight control. Her tears had turned to rage, that rage was fuelling a telepathic wave that affected anyone within range of it, telepathic or not.

She stormed down to deck 8, leaving a trail of semi conscious or unconscious crew in her wake. She was going to find her father, for that she needed the ship. She knew taking the bridge would be difficult so she headed for the one place where the ship could be controlled from as well as the bridge, main engineering. Her wake left the crew with no choice but to stay well clear.

Eyelaya had been headed to meet the Captain. She had a mission and she couldn't wait to talk to him about several things. She had liked the previous captain but she really liked Stillwater. She wondered why he always had an exhausted look on his face when she was around.

Rounding the corner she bumped into someone. "OH!" She fell back hard. "I'm so sor…" She looked up and what she saw concerned her.

T’Lanna looked at Eyelaya as she stood towering over her, there wasn’t the usual cheery smile instead her face was stained with tears, her eyes puffy and red yet an anger radiated from her. An anger that was normally kept locked away deep inside. Her mind was still on track as she simply side stepped Eyelaya and headed for Engineering.

Lieutenant JG Laviana Vadoma had security detail on deck eight, outside of Engineering as part of Stillwater and Zilth's concern over Andorian boarding parties. It wasn't uncommon for someone to swing by Engineering, though the Ship's Psychologist was a peculiar one. Laviana stepped forward and saw the woman looked a bit distraught. "Is there something I may help you with ma'am?"

T’Lanna said nothing, her mind was fully focussed on what she was going to do and heaven help anyone who would get in her way. “Just ... leave me ... ALONE!!”

“... everything I need, thank you,” Petty Officer Ilian commented as she pressed down on the engineering kit until she could properly close it. She flashed Ensign Tobrun a grateful smile as she turned to leave. The ensign was less than happy at the supplies the operations officer had procured but, after a recital of Ilian’s current and previous engineering expertise, she seemed satisfied the not going to inadvertently blow up the ship or herself. “Have a good day, Ensign.”

Equipment case slung over her shoulder, she had gone one step at most when the doors to engineering opened and her eyes widened in surprise.

The floor inside Engineering was littered with unconscious crew, T’Lanna’s emotional outburst had downed everyone around her.

Eyelaya, having forgotten something returned to engineering and entered right after the ensign. She gasped. "What the hell?"

“I ... have to ..” T’Lanna approached the controls in readiness to take command from the bridge. She wanted to take the ship to find her father. She HAD to find him. “Must ... find him!!” She massaged her temples tears still running down her cheeks.

Eyelaya saw what was happening. "Okay...listen why don't you tell me what happened and how I can help?"

T’Lanna looked at Eyelaya like she was staring right through her. “You don’t want to help me! You just want to stop me! Leave ... me ... alone! Just GET OUT!!

The force of the command caused Eyelaya to sway. She felt okay one moment then fell back into a solid frame the next. She felt strong arms supporting her. There was a light touch on her head and then it began to clear. She looked up. "Commander."

With a look Soral showed her where to go. The secondary panel. There she could lock down the ship. She headed there as Soral approached Vali. "T'Lanna, what has happened?" He asked in his calmest voice.

T’Lanna turned to look at Soral, “My Father ...” tears ran down her cheeks as her mind practically screamed what she’d seen at Soral. “Have to ... get to him!! To save him!!”

Soral walked slowly towards her. "You must tell me what he said. Did he tell you where he was." He'd gotten images and could guess what had happened but he needed to keep her calm and talking until Eyelaya locked the controls.

T’Lanna’s gaze switched to Eyelaya. “Don’t!” Her emotions were hanging by a thread. “Please don’t ..” she gazed back at Soral. “I can’t wait!! P’Jem ... we have to get to P’Jem!!”

"T'Lanna you must get hold of yourself. You cannot take the ship without proper permission. Before that can happen I must know the full details." He walked ever closer.

“I can’t wait!” Her frustration was starting to build. “We have to go NOW!!” She looked at Soral throwing a powerful wave of telepathic energy in his direction.

Soral's mind jolted. It felt as though a dagger had pierced his head but he fought it along with the wave of dizziness. He lunged forward and thanked the stars that he was close enough to just pass her by inches. Spinning around he lifted his hand and compressed the nerve on her neck that would render her unconscious.

T’Lanna didn’t have time to react, the nerve pinch did it’s job as she sank to the floor unconscious.

Soral managed to catch her and lower her to the ground before he stumbled to the wall leaning heavily against it. Eyelaya was by his side. "All secured sir...are you alright?"

He gave a nod.

Eyelaya seeing that he needed a moment turned to the security in the room. "Can we get her to sickbay please?"

Captain Stillwater had frantically tried to get security to respond but to no avail. He was uncertain what exactly was unfolding down on deck 8, but that did not prevent him from taking the risk and matters into his own hand. The man arrived on deck eight, navigated the corridor, and found crew aiding to some unconscious shipmates. "Take them to Sickbay" he said Stillwater to a crewman checking on an unconscious colleague.

The Captain made a hasty entrance into Main Engineering's lower level, with a type II phaser rifle up and ready, drawn. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Commander Soral and Chief Eyelaya, though the sight of T'Lanna in Soral's arms. "Would someone care to inform this ship's Captain what the hell is going on?!"

Soral turned. "A... psychic shockwave." He watched various crewmembers, and T'Lanna being taken to sickbay. "It appears that her... father's ship was destroyed," He'd gotten that from the images T'Lanna sent. "Betazoids are able to project their emotions on others...especially those who have telepathic capabilities." He stumbled a little, Eyelaya was there to help steady him. He gave a nod. "Thank you Chief."

"I want her brought to Sickbay and put under close observation," Stillwater said sternly. "Eyelaya, did she damage any systems during her psychic shockwave?"

"No sir. Thanks to the commander I was able to lock down the controls. She was... insistent on getting to P'Jem, though."

Stillwater looked intrigued. "P'Jem is a Vulcan world, home to old old ruins, and a world where the Federation planted Romulan refugees."

"I gather that his ship was near there." Soral spoke.

"I will contact P'Jem and see if they know his whereabouts or anything about his ship" said Stillwater
